CD Projekt RED, the developer of “The Witcher” and “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings” announced that the franchise has sold over 4 million copies of both games. The first installment of the series is available for PC and Mac. “The Witcher 2” can be experienced by PC and Xbox 360 users and will hit Mac computers in the future.

“I’m still amazed with the result we have achieved with The Witcher franchise,” aid Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED studio. “Many gamers on many platforms have been drawn to the vivid and complex world we have created. In the gaming world summer means a lot of great, hot deals. So if you still don’t own the game look out for both retail and digital special offers. ‘The Witcher’ and ‘The Witcher 2’ are great, robust RPGs, that every true gamer should own.”

The Witcher games tell the intriguing story of Geralt of Rivia, a professional monster slayer from Andrzej Sapkowski’s bestselling fantasy novels. As Geralt, the players will resolve a conspiracy that can shake the entire Northern Kingdoms and will set upon a quest to regain the protagonist’s lost memory. Both games are praised by critics and fans for their gameplay features and high technical.

On the 23rd of August, Japanese Xbox 360 gamers will be able to play “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition”, and later this year the game will be also available for Mac computers.

In May, CD Projekt RED announced that it will grow outside “The Witcher” franchise and began collaboration with the famous game designer Mike Pondsmith on a new game series set in The Cyberpunk® universe. The new game will feature an engrossing, absolutely non-linear storyline and will take players to a futuristic, hi-tech, but also decaying society.
