The computer game Train Fever was recently presented on Steam Greenlight and Gambitious, two online platforms focused on computer games. On Steam Greenlight, the project has been welcomed with countless positive comments and instantly became one of the platform’s all-time top-rated concepts.
On Gambitious.com, the world’s first crowd funding platform exclusively dedicated to the games industry, Train Fever is by far the most successful project. By investing small amounts of money, fans of the genre not only help to make the game become a reality, but also participate in the sales revenue. Fans have already invested more than 125,000 Euro.

In Train Fever, the player founds a transport company and constructs bus, tram and railroad lines. The challenge is to build an efficient and profitable transport system, with railroads playing a central role. The title should become a successor of the extremely popular business simulation game Transport Tycoon from 1994.
Transport Tycoon still has a huge fan base. “We estimate the number of fans of this and similar games to one million people worldwide. To be profitable, we have to reach only a small percentage of them”, says Basil Weber, project leader at Train Fever. The developers plan to release the title in 2014.
