11bit Studios’ underrated original, Anomaly: Warzone Earth was a great concept that fulfilled the promise of being on the opposite side of tower defense, called “tower offense”. The anomaly of the game’s namesake that threatened Earth is still at large, and now the conflict has moved to the United States.

Metro: Last Light continues the tale of humanity’s desperation and survival in a post-apocalyptic Russia. It’s a setting that’s not typically seen in this genre, and so it brings forth something new to explore and soak in.

Dishonored – The Knife of Dunwall DLC
A lengthy look at the opposing side of Dishonored in this DLC as it focuses on the true killer of the Empress, Daud. Running concurrent with the main story, shows the master assassin has his own demons to deal with.

FEZ (PC)
Bringing clever puzzles, warm colors, an ambient soundtrack sets the tone for this 2D shifting in 3D spaces puzzler. A reminder of days gone by where you’re making notes about everything you see and do like old adventure games, never truly knowing if you’ll need that information for later.

Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
This standalone expansion wonderfully exemplifies that you don’t have to conform to the constraints of the game that preceded it, to make a unique and entertaining follow-up
