With just over a year separating the release of Metro Redux with Metro: Last Light, one has to wonder what makes this release so special. Firstly, it contains both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light in a bundle. It might be easy to think that it’s just Metro 2033 as an HD remake and a simple re-release of Metro: Last Light for a quick cash-in to go along with it. This is not so. Many significant, substantial changes have been made to remaster each game that warrants the purchase, even if you’ve played recently.
Three new screenshots were revealed for the upcoming Metro Redux which will include enhanced versions of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light. These new shots focus on the humans in the world.
4A Games and Deep Silver are bringing the iconic and award-winning Metro series to the next generation: Metro Redux features fully re-mastered and improved versions of both Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, creating the most compelling Metro experience ever. Upon release, Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux will each be available separately as a digital download for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC for $24.99. Alongside the digital release, a boxed compilation containing both games, Metro Redux will be available at retail for a suggested $49.99.
Before today, bikes and guns have never made a better and more deadly combo in games. The new weapon, Multi Barreled Bicycle Shotgun is available now in Metro Last Light. 4A Games has taken a fan-designed weapon and built it in-game, which can be downloaded as part of the “Developer Pack” DLC.
Deep Silver today announced that the ‘Faction Pack’ – the first piece of DLC for 4A Games’ critically acclaimed Metro: Last Light – is set for worldwide release on Steam, Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network from Microsoft and the PlayStation®Network on July 16th in North America and July 17th in Europe and the rest of the world.
The ‘Faction Pack’ includes three original single player missions, each casting the player as a different specialist from the warring Factions. Returning to some classic locations from Metro 2033, these missions feature new weapons, the return of a truly terrifying mutant foe, and offer three distinct gameplay challenges which we will leave as a surprise.
The Faction Pack costs $4.99 / 400 MSP, and is the first of four DLC packs to be included in the Metro: Last Light Season Pass, which at $14.99 / 1200 MSP offers a discount over buying the packs separately, and also includes an additional exclusive weapon, the Abzats.
Deep Silver also revealed additional details on the content of the future DLC packs:
Dmitry Glukhovsky’s book, Metro 2033 was the inspiration of the 2010 game of the same name. Also drawing from Metro 2033 is Metro: Last Light, which does not relate to Metro 2034 novel sequel. You again play as Artyom, a Ranger who is trying to find “The Dark One” who may hold answers to their questions. Along the way is tension, action, betrayal, and loyalty. If you didn’t happen to play the first game, the opening cinematic of Last Light does a good job of catching you up.
Deep Silver today released Metro: Last Light: The highly anticipated sequel to the extraordinary Metro 2033 is now available in North America for PlayStation®3, the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows® PC. Deep Silver today revealed the final chapter in the ‘Ranger Survival Guide’ for Metro: Last Light. Exploring the unique equipment and brutal, hand-made weaponry every Ranger needs to survive the perils of the Metro, this chapter also teaches you how to use light as an ally (or even as a potential weapon) as well as detailing Metro’s infamous bullet-driven economy and gun trading and customization mechanic.
