Forza 4’s August DLC “Playseat Car Pack” coming Today

The newest “Forza Motorsport 4” Car Pack will be available for download starting Tuesday, August 7 on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, adding a new crop of cars for Forza players to collect, drive, and customize. Available for 560 Microsoft Points, the August Playseat Car Pack spotlights ten cars that deserve a spot in every “Forza 4” player’s garage—from luxury land yachts from a bygone era to prime examples of modern day sports car power. Sponsored by Playseat—the premier sim-seat design of choice for professional drivers and casual gamers alike—the August Playseat Car Pack brings a stellar lineup of automotive prestige that can only be found in “Forza Motorsport 4.”

The August Playseat Car Pack features the following 10 cars:

  • 2013 Ford Mustang Boss 302 – Backed by legions of followers, the Boss 301 has a look that’s both aggressive and contemporary, with lots of throwback charm. Among other colors, the Boss is available in school bus yellow as a tribute to the 1970 Trans-Am championship car driven by Parnelli Jones.
  • 2003 Aston Martin DB7 Zagato – First shown in August 2002 the DB7 Zagato saw only 100 cars in its production run. Those 100 cars have rightly become prized collector’s items, with a 5.9 liter V12 normally aspirated engine and lots of signature Zagato design flourishes.
  • 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 – The spirit of Chevy’s hallowed ZL1 Camaro makes its return and it delivers on Chevy fans’ sky-high expectations. With a 6.2-liter V8 cranking out a healthy 580 horsepower, the ZL1 aims to put an exclamation point on the phrase, “American Muscle.”
  • 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track – Built-in driftability comes standard in this, the fastest of the Genesis Coupes. The 3.8 Track’s rear-wheel drive and hearty V6 deliver an exciting ride whether the car is in a straight line or you are linking smoke-billowing drift turns.
  • 1962 Lincoln Continental – No other car quite exemplifies the term “land yacht”, the Continental is regal in its presentation and as ostentatious as it is wide and long. In 1962 it was offered as “economical,” surely not for the gas-chugging 430 CID V8, but genuinely for its sheer quality of construction.
  • 1989 Mercedes-Benz #63 Sauber-Mercedes C 9 – The C9 was the watershed Group C racecar that brought Sauber-Mercedes pole and second position on the grid at Le Mans in 1989, leading to a win and second place that year. The beauty of the chassis in classic silver harkens back to the successful Silver Arrows of ages past. Among group C racers the C 9 is a fabled competitor.
  • 1984 Peugeot 205 T16 – 200 production model T16s were produced in order for Peugeot to meet homologation standards for rally competition. These radical cars had a specially developed mid-mounted four-cylinder turbocharged, 16-valve engine mated to a four-wheel-drive system. The street version of the 205 T16 only differed from the rally version through a lowered turbo boost and the interior trim.
  • 2013 Scion FR-S – This long-awaited collaboration between Toyota and Subaru is a welcome addition for sports car fans. The 2.0 liter puts out 200 horsepower matched with a six-speed transmission in a package that weighs around 2,800 pounds. The FR-S will do 0-60 in just over six seconds and is no slouch in cornering responsiveness.
  • 1962 Triumph TR3B – This is a true wind-in-your-face sports car with a four-cylinder engine and dual SU carburetors churning out a respectable 105 hp. At only 2,200 pounds, and with a fully-synchronized transmission, it provided plenty of sporting excitement. The TR3’s racing success and fun road-going manners established Triumph in the sports car market for many years to come.
  • 2013 Lexus GS350 F Sport – With the F Sport, luxury and refinement are cast strongly enough to compete with the Germans. Driven aggressively, the GS350 can utilize its firmer suspension and larger front-brake rotors to raise adrenalin. Or it can serenely transport its passengers in comfort and security. It’s really about the potential to excite, and the GS350 F has excitement in spades.

July Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 4 is Available Today

The newest “Forza Motorsport 4” Car Pack is available to download today on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, adding a new crop of cars for Forza players to collect, drive, and customize. Available for 560 Microsoft Points, the July Car Pack features a variety of new and old vehicles—with cars like the 1952 Hudson Hornet mixing it up with the latest Mercedes-Benz performance machines like the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG. It’s the kind of variety car fans can only find in “Forza Motorsport 4.”

The July Car Pack features the following 10 cars:

  • 2011 McLaren 59 McLaren GT MP4-12C GT3 – The MP4-12C GT3 is the race version of the latest McLaren supercar, and it takes no prisoners on the track. The 12C GT3 is designed to allow any driver to reach the cars performance limit. In conjunction with CRS Racing, development has been pursued with the level of detail equal to that of an F1 car.
  • 1973 AMC Gremlin X — Described by AMC as “the first American-built import,” and based on a sketch by AMC’s chief stylist, the AMC Gremlin was a two-fold response to Japanese imports and the fuel crisis, and a classic of 1970s style.
  • 2012 Ascari KZ1R — A track-tuned version of the race-bred supercar, the KZ1R is capable of a top speed of 200 mph and 0-60 acceleration of 3.0 seconds.
  • 1998 Aston Martin V8 Vantage V600 — Take a luxury sportscar and then squeeze even more horsepower out of an already chest-pounding motor. That’s what Aston Martin did with the super-low production Vantage V600. Only 56 cars were built with this option package; not surprising, since only a select few can afford the V600’s stunning combination of power and luxury.
  • 1952 Hudson Hornet — A historically profound leader in both automotive design and sports car racing, the 1952 Hudson Hornet set new standards in safety, interior space, and handling. The Hornet also set stock-car racing win records that would stand for decades.
  • 1954 Jaguar XK120 — The XK120 is not just slick sophistication; it also delivered refined performance and an exhilarating ride. With its curvy body and an engine capable of 210 hp, the XK120 is all dangerous curves and road-hugging performance.
  • 1956 Lotus Eleven — The Lotus Eleven was successful on the track and was piloted by drivers such as the great Stirling Moss. To this day, there are few cars that can match its beauty or feather-light package.
  • 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG — Whenever a Mercedes-Benz model gets the AMG treatment, you can expect slick refinement and a serious power boost. The SLK 55 is no exception. Dropping in a 5.5-liter V8 with 415 hp and 376 ft-lbs of torque is just the beginning. The SLK55 AMG is a dressy competitor in its class, with enough option packages to serve those in search of lavish luxury and pure thrills.
  • 1995 RUF CTR2 — Following the release of the new 993-chassis, Alois Ruf went to work building a new CTR that would once again sit in the upper echelons of automotive performance. To prove the car’s dominance, Ruf entered two CTR2s in the legendary Pike’s Peak Hill Climb. They were both street legal and placed second and fourth, setting the overall top qualifying time with ease.
  • 2012 Spyker C8 Aileron — After the demise of the Le Mans GT1 class, Spyker has focused its efforts on developing a car for the new GTE class. What they have produced in the C8 Aileron is an off-the-shelf race car that is ready to go head-to-head with the top competition. …continue reading » July Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 4 is Available Today

Drive the SRT Viper in “Forza Horizon” This Fall

Starting on October 23, 2012, fans will also be able to take the SRT Viper off the track in “Forza Horizon,” a new game that offers an immersive pick-up-and-play open-road racing experience and features the unrivaled realism, diversity and innovation that are hallmarks of the “Forza Motorsport” franchise.

Forza Motorsport 4’s Next DLC is the Top Gear Car Pack available May 1st

The newest “Forza Motorsport 4” Car Pack will be available for download starting Tuesday, May 1 on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, adding a new crop of cars for Forza players to collect, drive, and customize. Available for 560 Microsoft Points, the May Top Gear Car Pack has something for car fans of every stripe, from emblematic examples of 1970s American style and one of the fastest automobiles in the world; to one of the coolest off-road vehicles around and the world’s smallest production car. It’s a grab-bag of automotive excellence that can only be found in “Forza Motorsport 4.”

The May Top Gear Car Pack features the following 10 cars:

  • • 2012 Hennessey Venom GT – The Venom GT is ambition personified. Designed to beat the Bugatti Veyron’s 0-200 mph time, the car is defined by pure, unadulterated power. The result is impressive—the Venom reaches 0-200 mph in less time than it takes your average car to reach 0-60 mph.
  • • 1977 AMC Pacer X – Wayne and Garth never had it so good. With classic 70s style and a 232-cubic-inch, 3.8 liter, inline six, the Pacer X was modest on power, but its legacy lives on today. Take it for a ride in “Forza Motorsport 4,” preferably with “Bohemian Rhapsody” cranked nice and loud.
  • • 2011 Ford Transite SuperSportVan – The SuperSportVan is the latest creation in the long-standing series of Ford-built custom fans, which dates back to 1971. Designed to prove that Ford engineers know how to have fun, this version is a one-off design shown at a 2011 UK commercial vehicle show.
  • • 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon – The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is by far the most comfortable and amenity-loaded Wrangler ever. It’s grittier too, with 40 percent more horsepower than older models, making this Jeep just as comfortable on the track as it is on the trails.
  • • 1966 Lotus Cortina – One of the first “race on Sunday, commute on Monday” factory cars, the Lotus Cortina built its reputation both on the tarmac and in folks’ daily lives. Packing 115-horsepower and weighing just over a ton, the Cortina can carry four people in relative comfort, but it’s most happy when being revved high and thrown into a corner with full gusto.
  • • 1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 – The turbo-charged Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 is a treasured piece of JDM history. The VR-4 was sold in limited numbers and its four-wheel drive, four-wheel-steering handling highlights technology that caters to a driving experience matched only by much more expensive sedans.
  • • 2012 Smart ForTwo – The uncontested winner of the “easy to park” award, the Smart ForTwo is the first micro car to be introduced in the U.S. At just 106-inches long, the ForTwo is by far the smallest production car ever made. It’s a practical, urban errand runner whose looks will always spark a conversation.
  • • 1990 Subaru Legacy RS – Putting aside its smaller, quirkier wagons and sedans, Subaru brought new game to dealerships in 1990 with the Legacy RS. More substantial in nearly every respect, the Legacy RS Turbo was the most powerful Subaru model available and still enjoys a strong following among Subie enthusiasts.
  • • 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 – Packing a huge HEMI under its hood that makes for more than 450 horsepower, the Chrysler 300 SRT8 packs a potent combination of power and sophistication. The 300 will go hit 0-60 in under five seconds and will nail the quarter mile in less than 13 seconds. It might not be what you expect from a Chrysler these days… and that’s precisely the point.
  • • 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII – Hand-crafted beauty and grin-widening performance define the 1965 Austin-Healey 3000 MkIII. With a 147-horsepower, six-cylinder overhead valve engine, the Healey–or “Squealy” as it was often called–delivers an exhilarating open-air ride and grippy cornering.  …continue reading » Forza Motorsport 4’s Next DLC is the Top Gear Car Pack available May 1st

Forza Motorsport 4 – Alpinestars Car Pack DLC Drops on April 3rd

The newest “Forza Motorsport 4” Car Pack will be available for download starting Tuesday, April 3 on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, adding a new crop of cars for Forza players to collect, drive, and customize. Available for 560 Microsoft Points, the April Alpinestars Car Pack will feature ten amazing rides, including precision-tuned German race cars, rotary engine masterpieces, and classic late-50s American style, as well as a few surprises along the way.

The April Alpinestars Car Pack features the following 10 cars:

2011 Mercedes-Benz #35 Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3 – Featuring a replica livery of a race-winning Mercedes from 40 years prior, the Black Falcon SLS AMG GT3 is itself no stranger to excellent track performance. The SLS’s distinctive gullwing doors are a welcome nod to classic Mercedes style, and the car’s deep carbon fiber splitter and low roofline keep it firmly planted in the present. With the GT3, Mercedes is poised for more racing success ahead.

2011 Aston Martin #009 Aston Martin Racing AMR One – Engineered to take advantage of the FIA’s emergency efficiency-focused regulations, the Aston Martin AMR One employs an in-line, 2-liter, 6-cylinder turbo that produces upwards of 540 hp.

2012 Jaguar XKR-S – The XKR-S is Jaguar’s first full production car to be a member of the elite 300 kmh (186 mph) club. It’s a strong road performer with a powerful engine and adaptive damping and stability control to keep the car stuck to the road. In all, the XKR-S is a potent mix of power, precision, and typical Jaguar beauty.

1995 BMW M5 – BMW’s M5 line has always represented a full-bodied combination of power and luxury and nowhere is that more evident than in the 1995 M5. The quick-revving, 3.8 liter, 24-valve straight-6 engine delivers north of 300 hp and the 6-speed transmission was one of the few available in the mid-1990s. One drive is all you’ll need to understand why so many BMW fans wish to lead the pack in this 4-door luxury sedan.

2011 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S – The Quattroporte Sport GT S is the automotive equivalent to an Italian opera. The Ferrari-built engine provides a concert of throaty rumblings whose volume and tone can be controlled via a valve-controlled exhaust. But this car can do more than produce an aria of exhaust notes; the Sport GT S is adept in the corners and no slouch on the straightaways too.

1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE – Innovation and affordability combine with this mid-80s rotary masterpiece from Mazda. The GSL-SE introduced the legendary 13B engine, the largest, most powerful RX-7 engine ever developed at the time. Combine that with a light frame and perfect weight distribution and you’ve got a serious performer on your hands.

1972 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3 – A beautifully appointed luxury saloon, the 300 SEL 6.3 also features a big single overhead cam, pushing the car from 0-60 in just 6.5 seconds and making it the fastest sedan in the world at the time.

1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible — Named after the sophisticated French resort town patronized by the likes of Napoleon and Queen Victoria, the Biarritz convertible defined elegance and grace in the late automotive world of the 1950s. It also had at least one very famous owner: “The King” Elvis Presley, whose “Pink Cadillac” has inspired numerous songs and movies.

1997 Volvo 850 R – While the terms “sports” and “wagon” rarely come together, they fit nicely when describing the 850 R. It’s the perfect ride for hauling the kids, the dogs, and some groceries around, but it also sports a turbo-powered 5-cylinder engine that tops out north of 150 mph. You might not need all that power on your trip to the local hardware store but, in Forza 4, it will serve you well.

2012 Scion tC — Functional, sporty, safe, and well-equipped, sum up the 2012 Scion tC. For 2012, the body received a much more chiseled look and, as with all Scion’s, the list of dealer options is very long …continue reading » Forza Motorsport 4 – Alpinestars Car Pack DLC Drops on April 3rd
