CHICAGO, JUNE 11TH, 2020 – Makers of Octodad: Dadliest Catch Young Horses revealed today, as part of the PlayStation 5 Digital Showcase, their brand new game: Bugsnax. The whimsical, narrative-driven adventure game will have you investigate the mysterious Snaktooth Island, home of the legendary half-bug half-snack creatures: the titular Bugsnax (noun, plural). Bugsnax is coming Holiday 2020 to the PlayStation™5 (PS5) system, PlayStation®4 and the Epic Games Store.
The reveal trailer for Bugsnax features the voices of Max Mittelman (One Punch Man) as “Filbo Fiddlepie”, Helen Sadler as intrepid explorer “Elizabert Megafig”, Tom Taylorson (voice of Octodad) as the Snax in the trailer, and an original track titled “It’s Bugsnax!” from British indie pop sensation Kero Kero Bonito.
The fully voice acted game, featuring over a dozen professional voice actors, carries all of the weirdness and quirkiness that anchored Octodad’s success in 2014. “We just love making weird stuff. It’s been tough staying silent all these years, and it brings us joy and relief (and dread) to finally show off Bugsnax!” – said Creative Director Kevin Zuhn with a single tear on his cheek. “It’s so much bigger and weirder than we ever could have imagined when we started. It surprises and delights us constantly and we hope it has the same effect on all of you.”
