REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – March 31, 2022 – In celebration of Hyper Light Drifter’s sixth anniversary today, Gearbox Publishing is proud to announce its partnership with Heart Machine to publish Hyper Light Breaker, a new adventure set in the beloved Hyper Light universe – launching in Steam Early Access in Spring 2023. For the very first time, players will be able explore the world of Hyper Light in 3D via single-player or online cooperative multiplayer. The game is currently in development from the same award-winning studio that created the critically-acclaimed Hyper Light Drifter, with the original creative director, Alx Preston, leading the charge. Millions of viewers got an exclusive first look at Hyper Light Breaker following G4’s Xplay Presents: Hyper Light Drifter Celebration + World Exclusive Announcement livestream earlier today when the team revealed a new, action-packed animated announcement trailer (with animation produced by Studio Grackle) showing a glimpse of Hyper Light Breaker’s 3D world.
