Deep Rock Galactic celebrates its fifth birthday with Anniversary Event full of free beers, nostalgia, assignment, and new DLC
From Press Release:
COPENHAGEN, DENMARK 2 March 2023 – Today Ghost Ship Games and Coffee Stain Publishing celebrate the fifth anniversary of Deep Rock Galactic’s launch on Steam. To commemorate the occasion, players can now enter into a legacy edition of the game as well as upgrade their dwarven appearance with a tricked-out supporter DLC. Alongside these in-game updates come real-world content drops, with the Deep Rock Galactic original soundtrack making its way to Spotify, details on Deep Rock Galactic Season 04 and the recruitment video community competition winner announcement.
Beyond the boundaries of time and space
Craving a bit of nostalgia? Go back in time to Deep Rock Galactic as it was during its 2018 launch with the Legacy edition, which can be accessed through the game on Steam. Venture into the mines alone, or bring a team along to see how a mining corporation has changed Hoxxes IV for the better.
In addition to the old comes some new, with a new Supporter II Upgrade DLC pack. Dwarves will be dressed to the nines for the occasion in the Ghost Ship Games Guardian set, including four paintjobs, a new Weapons Framework for all weapons in-game, and a fancy new helmet to tie the look together. But Mission Control knows there’s no celebration without booze, which is why this DLC also includes a VIP treatment at the Abyss Bar, complete with a special Oily Oaf beer served in golden Tankards.
Mission Control crowns Recruiter of the Year
The Hiring for Hoxxes competition has come to a close, and after reviewing all the submissions, Ghost Ship Games will be announcing which headhunter has brought in the most greenbeards — but not before naming some honourable mentions. Deep Rock Galactic will bestow its top talent agent with a number of prizes including a golden loot bug, signed poster and a Steam deck. The winning entry can be found here.
Rock and Rolling Stone!
Wrapping up these fifth anniversary celebrations comes some exciting content to Spotify. Both volumes of the Deep Rock Galactic original soundtrack will be making their way to the streaming platform soon, for dwarves and humans alike to enjoy.
Season 04 on Hoxxes IV and more
Enough about the past! As a part of the fifth anniversary livestream, Ghost Ship Games revealed the future of Deep Rock Galactic — including plans for Season 04 which is coming to the game later this year. The team also revealed more about its new publishing vertical, with information on three confirmed titles to be shared as part of the festivities.
