Be careful, we’re getting TOPICAL this week. After some focused conversation about the real issues, Scott shares his closing thoughts on Watch Dogs Legion AND Breathedge, both of which he just finished! Evan’s got more nuanced takes on Monster Hunter Rise and some initial impressions of Yakuza 6’s PC release. We’ve got Kojima rumors, Apex Legends rumors, and so much more! And of course… Meatloaf.
Scott’s been playing Eggcelerate, The Fabled Woods, and Evil Genius 2; Evan’s all in on Monster Hunter Rise and talks about its player accessibility; we have LOADS of nice things to say about It Takes Two, a game you should be playing right now. And, this week we’ve traded out the Fast Food roundup for a video game quiz that’s sure to delight and surprise!
Adios, friendos! Scott’s been playing Adios and the extremely popular Minecraft Dungeons, and Evan is pretty much only playing the same things all the time, so we hope you like regular check-ins on Valheim and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Also Evan is finally on the Little Nightmares train, so hurray for that. We’ve got some discussion about Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Pacific Rim: Uprising, and silly sketch comedy shows on Netflix. But most importantly, please stick around for the debut episode of our fast food mini-podcast at the end of the episode. I hate to say it but this may be some of the best radio we’ve done. Beep boop, gotta go, see ya!
We got Warlords, we got zombies, we got Yakuza, we got vikings! Yeah we’re basically checking all of the important content boxes to deliver you a show with enough variety to guarantee there is something for YOU, dear listener! Come listen to Scott talk up (and down) about Stronghold Warlords and Stubbs The Zombie! Thrill as Evan talks about Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s PS5 release and Valheim, two games you’ve heard him talk about a lot already! Enjoy some news blurbs and our first ever corrections email, which we read but do not accept under any circumstances.
Across the nation, around Outworld! Scott’s been making the rounds on his backlog and has some parting thoughts for Nioh 2, and lots of praise for Hero Siege and Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath. Evan’s fallen deep down into a bottomless pit of viking survival, and talks about why Valheim is such a great survival game. We have some reflections on the WandaVision finale, and make the news rounds on a few items, including Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda. Finally, we may have been stumped by an email? Uh oh.
Scott’s got some praise for Breathedge, and he has a check-in on the state of Rainbow Six Siege in its sixth year. Evan really needs to unpack Maquette, and he has some reflections on Spider-Man after seeing the credits roll. The guys peel the bloom-ridden veneer off of Halo 4 to get at the meat of it, and then we’ve got SERIOUS business to discuss with Frogwares’ Sinking City woes, Criterion being called up to help finish Battlefield 6, and some tasty fresh Switch refresh leaks. Plus! Wandavision finale predictions!
We skipped a week and everything went nuts! We’ll never do it again, probably! Scott shares his thoughts about Little Nightmares II and his latest Battlefield 4 secret hunting efforts; Evan gives the rundown on Bowser’s Fury and his new obssession with Astro’s Playroom speedruns; lastly, we do our best to break down the tsunami of gaming news from Nintendo Direct, Blizzcon, Sony games coming to the PC, and a new special section called “In Memoriam.” It’s exactly what you think it is.
We don’t need to have played and VIDEO GAMES to have lots to talk about! Scott can’t keep himself away from Tarkov, Evan’s got Too Many Yakuzas™ to handle, but more importantly, we have MANY THINGS TO SAY about The Mandalorian and WandaVision (there are lots of spoilers in these discussions). We touch on the Stadia studio closures, CD Projekt hackery, Epic’s Unreal Metahumans technology, and the Prince of Persia remake delay. Finally, we wrap things up with further discussion about Bear vs Gorilla, and take a trip down memory lane to talk about old tv shows nobody remembers.
We’ve got a lean, mean, laser-focused machine for you this week! Scott shares all the details on Nioh 2’s PC release, and Evan walks back several opinions on The Medium from last week and adds further clarification to his impressions of the game. We discuss the Goldeneye007 Remake leak, and VERY IMPORTANT LADY DIMITRESCU NEWS.
Them Quicksave Boys are back at it again for another round! Scott’s Bash Corner returns for some opinions on Redout Space Assault, and he has more thoughts to share about Nioh and Single Player Tarkov. Evan’s got lots to say about the Resident Evil: Village demo “Maiden” (and of course, Lady Dimitrescu whose name we cannot pronounce), and he provides some in-depth impressions of his time with The Medium. Oh, and hey, Happy Birthday, Saving Content! We’re 10 years old!
January continues to be a slow month for games news but that won’t slow us down a bit! Scott’s been revisiting Nioh, an old favorite of his, and dipping his toes into the somewhat illicit but thoroughly enjoyable Escape From Tarkov Single Player mod. Evan has played a whole lot of Luigi’s Mansion 3 and is still chipping away at Spider-Man: Remastered. We share our thoughts on revisiting Halo 2 through the lens of the Anniversary release, we talk about Hitman III’s rocky path to providing content and progress carryover from the previous two games, and we answer an email that leads our discussion down a dark and shameful path that frankly we’d rather never discuss again.
Scott’s got some thoughts on Call of the Sea and a nifty little dungeon crawler called Slasher’s Keep. Evan shares his impressions of the Monster Hunter Rise demo on Switch, and he has some updates on Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Spider-Man: Remastered. We dive into this week’s big announcements from Nvidia and what their impact may be. Also, this is our first ever live-streamed recording, we somehow managed to produce a tighter, shorter show! The Internet! It’s amazing!
This week on Quicksave, Evan and Scott have to play catch-up on two weeks worth of gaming since our last check-in. Scott has some final thoughts on Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and some additional impressions of Valhalla, as well as reflections on the Definitive Edition releases of Mafia I & II. Evan is still straddling two Yakuza games at once and has some new adventures to share, plus a brief look at Umurangi Generation. Evan also has some hands-on impression of his first few hours with the PlayStation 5 hardware, and the guys reflect on what it’s like to revisit Halo Reach and Halo: Combat Evolved over one (and two, respectively) decades after their release. Oh, and Evan complains about HDR in Windows because that business still doesn’t work right.
‘Twas two nights before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except Evan’s mouse. Join Evan and Scott as they chit chat away about some of the games that they’ve recently played. We’ve got Yakuza, Cyberpunk, and Spiderman this week, and some graphical settings you may want to tweak. There are sales and chicken computers and remakes abound, and we wrap it all up with an email we’ve found.
