As someone who’s reviewed every incarnation of Aqua Kitty there has been, the unique blend of Defender and Gradius has been so joyous to experience time and time again. When I heard Astro Aqua Kitty was dropping the arcade aspect and adding RPG mechanics like multiple characters, experience points, quests, and loot – it was exactly the follow-up I didn’t know I wanted. This is a game that will have you hooked for at least a dozen hours, per character. Tikipod does it again; with its irresistible charm, gorgeous visuals, and effortless gameplay, Astro Aqua Kitty is the cat’s meow.
Tikipod Ltd’s Aqua Kitty – Milk Mine Defender has seen many iterations and improvements as it has been released on other consoles. With Aqua Kitty UDX on the Nintendo Switch, it is largely unchanged from the Xbox One version, and dare I say perfected. Aqua Kitty blends Defender, Gradius, and Uridium in interesting and fresh ways that makes ownership of this title on any platform a rare treat, but the Switch benefits most from this release.
AQUA KITTY UDX: Xbox One Ultra Edition has challenging but simple gameplay, no shortage of modes or ways to play, and is incredibly entertaining no matter how much time you invest in it. This reviews makes for my third of what essentially is the same game, but the Xbox One version is easily the best version of the game to-date. The duo over at Tikipod Ltd. have crafted yet another fine version of the game with a new mode: Dreadnought, that freshens it up enough to warrant another purchase. For new players, the reasons have always been there, but now there are more reasons to purchase the best Aqua Kitty.
