July 18, 2024 – Hooded Horse and Long Jaunt’s highly anticipated medieval colony management game Norland has released into Steam Early Access. Manage an up-and-coming noble family and guide them through the trials of a dynamic, living (and fictional) world.
First announced in 2022, Norland has successfully captured the imagination of players worldwide, launching as one of the top 25 most-wishlisted games on Steam with nearly 700,000 wishlists.
The initial early access build will include:
- A rich, dynamic world filled with characters, from nobles (key leaders who are controlled directly) to peasants, soldiers, and other non-controllable characters.
- Lots of different character interactions, from subterfuge to negotiation, marriages, and more.
- Players can engage with other polities on the world map – form alliances, create vassals, and wage war on enemies.
- Trade and migration networks, with global market dynamics.
- Four unique cultures, as well as unique regions.
- Large-scale combat – raise armies to defend the kingdom from bandits or rival kingdoms, or wage wars of conquest against unsuspecting neighbors.
- A fully implemented technology system that relies on knowledge being passed from character to character.
- Crime and punishment mechanics, as well as revolutions and uprisings.
- Several different scenarios alter the start conditions and even the difficulty of a playthrough.
The game is localized from English into German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
Norland is available on PC via Steam Early Access for $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99 / ¥2,980.
