Today, Blackbird Interactive released its biggest content update ever for Homeworld 3, the new chapter in the award-winning sci-fi strategy series that launched earlier this year. This last major content update delivers all of the content in the Year One Pass, including two premium DLC packs bolstering the War Games mode, as well as a host of free improvements, fixes, and some entirely new features to deliver the complete vision for Homeworld 3. Additionally, Homeworld 3 Fleet Command Edition and Homeworld 3 Deluxe Edition can be purchased at a discounted price through November 27. Players can save 50% off the suggested retail price on Steam and the Epic Games Store on either edition.*

Free Content Updates: Available to everyone who owns Homeworld 3, the free update introduces a range of highly requested combat and balance changes to evolve the series’ iconic space combat in exciting new directions. Notable updates include enhancements to gameplay for more strategic depth, new ways to control fleets more intuitively, combat balance tuning, a tech tree balance pass, and resourcing adjustments across all modes. Additionally, several new gameplay features and abilities have been added to Skirmish, War Games and the Campaign.

Combat, Resource and Skirmish Mode Tuning: The game’s overall combat, resource and research management, and skirmish mode have been significantly updated and rebalanced based on community feedback and playtesting to create a more rewarding and meaningful experience for players.

New Abilities: Available to use in all modes, Reinforce is a new targeted ship ability that allows players to seamlessly integrate new ships into existing formations. In addition, players can now use Hyperspace Jumps in Skirmish mode allowing them to quickly teleport their fleet around the map at the cost of RUs.

War Games Additions: Interstitials are a new system that create new “mini-missions” which have a chance to appear between each of the traditional War Games maps and will throw some fun curveballs at players.

Changes to Campaign Flow: In select points of the campaign mode, players now have the freedom to continue playing in a mission after the objectives were completed (similar to how many missions worked in earlier Homeworld games).
Premium DLC Packs: The two premium DLC War Games content packs give players the ability to experience the unique gameplay styles of two new factions – the Somtaaw and Taiidan, each featuring two new dedicated War Games fleets. The DLC packs are available for individual purchase and are already included as part of the Homeworld 3 – Year One Pass.

Somtaaw – The indomitable Somtaaw fleets combine the classic firepower of the Hiigaran Navy and retrofits it with adapted industrial mining equipment. Somtaaw fleets prize survivability with reinforced armor and ion cannons on their Carrier and repair-capable Resource Controllers that can repair friendly ships in a pinch. Kiith Somtaaw also brings two all-new ships to War Games, the Acolyte Strikecraft and the Heavy Storm Frigate. Acquiring the Somtaaw fleet pack will provide players with two new War Games fleets, two ship units, 32 artifacts, 10 challenges and a new emblem.

Taiidan – The Hiigaran’s original enemy, these two new fleets bring all-new gameplay to War Games with the only buildable capital ship of all War Games Fleets, the fearsome and iconic Missile Destroyer. Acquiring the Taiidan fleet pack will provide players with two new War Games fleets, 11 ship units, 52 artifacts, 10 challenges and an emblem.
