From Press Release:
LOS ANGELES – Enter a world filled with magic and ancient secrets with Palia’s free Elderwood Expansion, now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC! As Palia’s largest expansion yet, Elderwood introduces a brand-new Adventure Zone with a new map, loads of fresh content, new gameplay systems, an exciting new chapter in the main story, an array of new quests and more.
Alongside the free release of the Elderwood Expansion, Singularity 6 is thrilled to welcome PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players to the Palia community. While immediate access to Elderwood is available for all players, it’s highly recommended to have completed the Temples Questline up through “Rooted in Place” with Fine Tools mastered before diving too far into the new Adventure Zone. Players can expect the following new in-game features in the Elderwood Expansion including:
-
Elderwood Map & New Main Story Chapter – A lush overgrown forest seeping with magic, the Elderwood Adventure Zone offers an all-new chapter to Palia’s main story, fun quests for players to conquer, a new villager with Umbraan roots and more!
-
Ancient Artifacts & Relics – As players explore and progress through the Elderwood, they’ll uncover various Artifacts that are a vital part of the Elderwood’s gathering experience. By completing a set of Artifacts, the player will be able to acquire the schematics to Relics, a new equipment type that provides buffs to not only you, but your entire party! If you want to maximize your capabilities in the Elderwood, you’ll want to work together to acquire and level up each of these Relics.
-
Ward Off Infected Essence – Throughout the new map, players will find various gathering items infected by an unknown magical essence. Collecting this essence requires unique materials and equipment specific to the Elderwood — as players continue through Elderwood’s main story, they’ll unlock the ability to craft the necessary materials to collect infected items.
-
Updates to Mining & New Gatherables – In Elderwood, players can collect new gatherables, including a new wood type and forage you can knock down. Mining has also been revamped to provide plentiful resources of Palium, along with the introduction of dedicated mining nodes for Gold and Silver. Infected Essence is also a new major focus of the gathering experience in Elderwood.
-
New Creatures and Plushes– Hunt, fish, forage, and collect both mischievous and adorable critters, such as the Ogopuu, Schmole, and Rockhopper!
-
New Cooking Recipes & Garden Crops – Within the Elderwood, various crops can be found across the map and used for crafting new decor sets or cooking various dishes that are new to the Zone. These new items include the Elderwood Orchids, Elderwood Lotuses, Elderflowers (rare!), Staircase Mushrooms, Elder Clam Mushrooms, Batterfly Beans and more.
-
Decorating Overhaul – The Elderwood Decor set is our first furniture set found entirely through exploration. Across the Elderwood, you’ll find pieces of the furniture left behind from the Umbraans. Players can use all pieces of the Elderwood and Umbraan Decor to mystically furnish their homes in style – especially with the housing plot’s newly-increased decor limits!
The Premium Store has also been revamped with fresh styles and spirit, including new outfit Collections, Pets and Gliders. Additionally, players can purchase the Starter Pack and Founder’s Pack to access one of Palia’s best bundle deals offered in the Premium Store, as well as the new Courier Pet system!
