Drill Core reaches a new depth of 1.0 as the strategic planet-mining roguelite exits Early Access today

From Press Release:

SEATTLE — July 17, 2025 — Drill Core, the platform miner simulator from developer Hungry Couch and publisher tinyBuild, excavates to the heart of planet cores and launches into 1.0 today on PC via Steam, and introduces a whole new workforce of creepy (yet effective!) crawlers, led by a commanding Queen.

Join the team of miners at Drill Core Inc. as they welcome new blood to their ranks: Swarnids! Double the workforce with freshly hatched recruits able to complete tasks in a fraction of the time human workers need. Eliminate pesky planet fauna with ease, fortify base defenses, and raise a Swarnid Watchtower to keep vigilante flies around dealing damage to anyone brave enough to get too close.

New branching upgrades offer enhanced control over turrets, with customization options and targeted priorities for every strategy. Streamline tactical decision-making during construction phases, and maximize research management via a simplified ore gathering system.

As it exits Early Access and enters 1.0, Drill Core adds fresh, innovative twists. Take on ten new qualification challenges to test the knowledge of veteran miners. Up the difficulty ante by banning specific technologies and finding new ways to finish the job. Ensure the future of humankind, and fend off intergalactic threats for the greater good… while making a tidy profit along the way.

“While the Early Access journey has ended, Drill Core begins a new life with the 1.0 release,” said Konstantin Burov, Head of Hungry Couch Games. “The latest update introduces elements that will entice new players and keep veteran miners engaged, while pushing their limits of strategic creativity as expert platform managers of the famous Drill Core Inc.”

Drill Core 1.0 is available today on Windows PC via Steam for $19.99 USD. The game supports English, French, Ukrainian, Serbian, German, Spanish (Spain), Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese languages.
