August 18th, 2025 – Available today, Raccoon Logic released a new Steam demo of Revenge of the Savage for players to taste revenge for themselves. It’s free… it’s hilarious… and it’s co-op! For players who then purchase the full game they’ll receive a special habitat customization, a Golden “Throne.” Additionally, players across console and PC platforms are treated to a free, that’s right, FREE Game Update that includes a Photo Mode, new Habitat Customizations and the highly requested Performance Mode offering 60 frames per second.
New Free Steam Demo
Get a taste of Revenge of the Savage Planet. It’s free! It’s fun! It’s funny! The new Steam demo offers players two modes granting access to its wild and wacky sci-fi adventure. The first mode (Available Day 1) gives access to the first hour (or so) of the game, introducing the story and the world letting players enjoy the experience from the very beginning, learning the tricks of the trade.
Coming quite soon after, the second mode includes a new custom ‘abilities’ demo, where players can explore and experiment with an upgraded version of their spaceman to discover all the fun of interacting with the creatures and interesting environments using abilities you’ll acquire in the late game. Whip stuff! Capture creatures! Grapple around the map! Shoot things with goo! It’s TOOL TIME!
Creative Director, Alex Hutchinson said: “We know that money is tight. We feel you. So if you’re not 100% certain you’ll enjoy our game, here’s a free demo. Try it. We think you’ll like it. We worked on it for 4 years and now it’s the price of two expensive coffees. You’ll play the tutorial and then maybe fool around with a bunch of late game abilities. Give it a shot. Please?”
Photo Mode
Seeing as players are already stuck in a star system far, far away they might as well take some happy snaps while they entertain themselves to death. With the new free game update, the feature enables players to pose their character, add creatures, pop in some sweet photo frames selecting from 20 different options and even 12 filters so they can be a star in space, just like all those cool kids on social media!
Habitat Customizations: Part 1
The new update also provides 40 different objects to further customize their habitat. From posters to wall dividers to creature trophies, players can add some additional charm to their space trailer! There’s no real point to them apart from their static beauty, but there’s no real point to anything. They’re free so enjoy! And yes, this does mean there will be a Part 2 but you’ll have to wait and see what’s in store for that update, coming this Fall.
Performance Mode
Players have asked for it and we are happy to deliver it. Fresh out of the Kindred Laboratory, the new Performance Mode option entitles all those with fancy, top-notch hardware and technically advanced consoles up to 60 frames per second. While some players want to experience the beauty of the world in 30 fps, others want a smooth and snappy experience. Through the Main Menu, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 players can select from 40 fps or 60 fps. Don’t worry, our Art Director is not crying at all. Have at it!
