Become the King of Kings in “Quest Mode”, 9 Kings’ newest Early Access update today

November 21, 2025 – Hooded Horse and Sad Socket are excited to reveal one more surprise for the hit autobattler kingdom-building game 9 Kings. Now that all nine kings are present, players can embark on the ultimate quest to become the true King of Kings in the new Quest Mode.

Featuring an interactive world map with 81 challenges – nine each from each of the nine kings – players will push back the fog of war battle by battle, until they reign supreme. Each battle comes with unique conditions and a little bit of lore. For example, players may find themselves fighting against the Rainbow Army every round, or another one might see their home plots covered in debris, which will need clearing and managing before they can be built on. Some are more straightforward, such as players being locked to cards from their chosen King only.

Each battle represents a unique spin on the core game loop, providing distinct challenges inspired by real possibilities that the game’s core mechanics allow for, including ones that are a bit more chaotic and require very strategic play.

9 Kings is available now on PC via Steam Early Access and the Microsoft Store for a base price of $19.99 / £17.99 / €19.99 / ¥1,980. It’s also available via PC Game Pass. It currently holds a 92% “Very Positive” rating with over 13,500 reviews.
