[London, United Kingdom – February 3rd, 2026] Well met friend! After a phenomenal 2025 which saw Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition sell almost half a million copies and released a well-received first update, the momentum continues with an even more ambitious second major expansion out now!
This new Winter update continues the trend of featuring both free and paid DLC content. The free content consists of a fresh co-op campaign for you to wage war with a friend, a new pack of unique maps to leave your mark on, and last but far from least, an external custom Lord and Castle Editor which gives players the freedom to create their own custom CPU opponents, scenarios, and castles! Hopefully those vocal players who yearn for an even greater challenge will finally meet their match against powerful enemies of their own design.
The paid DLC meanwhile will introduce two distinct CPU Lords in the form of The Sergeant and The Lioness, each with specialised tactics and military goals, along with a 9-mission skirmish trail – The Trail of the Cobra – to push players to reach new strategic heights.
Following his debut in Stronghold: Definitive Edition’s Jewel Campaign, The Sergeant has journeyed across the sands to face you in glorious battle! A veteran of great military renown, his confidence lies in commanding his troops; consisting largely of archers and well-armoured pikemen. His strongholds are sturdy and efficient, and his strategies are balanced in both aggression and defense.
After clawing her way to leadership within her bandit camp, the second DLC Lord, The Lioness, has strength in every sense of the word; solid castles with some sneaky traps, a healthy economy, and hostile tactics to claim her territory. Will you best the queen of the deep sands? Or shall you become her next meal?
You’ll have plenty of time to get to know these new opponents in the upcoming Trail of the Cobra, as you take on our latest skirmish scenarios. With these new opponents, gameplay additions, missions and tools, there’s no better time to grab a comrade and leap into the fray!
