PORTLAND, OREGON – August 29, 2022 – Spawn On Me the award winning podcast spotlighting People of Color in the gaming industry, founded and hosted by Kahlief Adams today announced that nominations have officially opened for the second annual The Spawnies Awards, honoring the developers, publishers, public relations, games and most importantly the community that makes it all possible within the gaming industry.
The Spawnies Awards showcases the true passion and creativity this industry and the culture behind it can create. Industry veteran Riana Manuel-Peña will return as co-host alongside Adams, and surprise guests, special performances, and more will be revealed later this year. The Spawnies have partnered with Grab Labs and for the first time ever will give fans the opportunity to get involved in the show by initially nominating their favorite games and experiences of 2022.
Beginning today, fans will be able to submit their nominations on Twitter by replying to tweet threads posted from the accounts @KahliefAdams and @SpawnOnMe. In order to submit your vote, simply reply to these tweets with the name of your game of choice. Likes and retweets will count towards those specific nominations. The nominee voting period will begin today Monday, August 29th, 2022 through Sunday, October 23, 2022 and culminate into a nomination show that will air on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 7pm PT on Twitch.tv/SpawnOnMe. Upon completion of the nomination show, voting will open up for the winners on Twitter, TheSpawnies.com, and through The Spawnies Twitch extension powered by Grab Labs
The Spawnies Awards will have nominations available for each of the uniquely named categories with this year bringing two new awards to the ceremony:
