It’s officially Croctober, and Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster launches October 29th onto PC and consoles

From Press Release:

Argonaut Games is delighted to announce that development of the Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster is complete, and it will launch digitally on October 29, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, XBOX Series X, XBOX Series S, and Windows PC on Steam and GOG.com. The remaster of the beloved sequel to the multi-million-selling hit Croc Legend of the Gobbos brings Croc’s next adventure to modern platforms, featuring enhanced visuals and a range of quality-of-life improvements.

October 1 also marks the start of Croctober, a whole month of news, updates, and surprises on Argonaut’s social channels, with the launch of Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos on October 29 as the highlight.

Starting October 29, longtime fans and new players can join Croc in search of his long-lost parents across over 40 levels of open-ended 3D platforming. The game was originally released in 1999 as Croc 2, and the remaster restores the title Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos, the name used during the game’s development.

“Players now have a date for their next adventure with Croc, October 29,” said Mike Arkin, co-CEO of Argonaut Games. “This remaster brings together the original’s open-ended 3D platforming, enhanced visuals, and quality-of-life improvements. We look forward to welcoming fans back to the Kingdom of the Gobbos and introducing new players to this beloved sequel.”

“Croc 2 takes Croc beyond his first adventure, with four distinct villages, new ways to explore, and his search for his long-lost parents at the heart of the story,” said Jez San OBE, Argonaut’s founder. “Sharing that adventure with another generation of players on October 29 is something very special.”

“October 29. Mark it on your calendars, Gobbos,” said Baron Dante, Croc’s arch-nemesis. “My Dantinis and I have a little revenge planned, and no triple-jumping crocodile is going to stop us!”

Croc’s Next Adventure

In Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos, Croc sets off for the mainland in search of his long-lost parents. However, his journey becomes a showdown as his arch-nemesis, Baron Dante, is resurrected by the Dantinis and vows revenge. Croc’s quest takes him through four distinct villages, where he rescues captured Gobbos and faces off against a roster of Guardians, including Soveena the Squid, whose obsession with Ginger Soda makes her a menace to contend with.

All of Croc’s classic moves are back, but jumping and tail-spinning are just the beginning. Croc can now triple jump, giving him extra height when he needs it most. Croc also rides minecarts, races cars and speedboats, catches air on a hang glider, and takes to the skies in a wooden airplane.

The remaster blends traditional platforming action with modern enhancements while preserving the feel of the original. Fans of the original remaster and newcomers alike can look forward to another heartwarming, family-friendly adventure packed with platforming challenges, secrets to uncover, and more adorable Gobbos to rescue.
