Historical multiplayer FPS Gallipoli receives first FREE expansion, Ali Al Muntar is out now for all platforms

From Press Release:

ALKMAAR, NETHERLANDS, 1st October, 2026 – BlackMill Games has today released the first major free content update for Gallipoli, available on Steam, PS5, XBOX Series X|S & Epic Games Store. The Ali Al Muntar expansion based on the Second Battle of Gaza in 1917, adds a new map, four new weapons, cinematic tanks, and is available free to all players who own Gallipoli. While Gallipoli remains an infantry-only game, players can advance behind moving tanks towards enemy lines on the new map.

Ali Al Muntar takes players to a new battlefield featuring open farmland, coastal dunes,  and rows of cacti that break up sightlines and create new routes through the map. The attack begins with automated tanks escorting the advancing troops, marking the first time moving tanks have appeared in the WW1 Game Series.

“We wanted to get the first free update into players’ hands quickly after launch,” said Jos Hoebe, CEO at BlackMill Games. “Ali Al Muntar feels quite different to any of the other maps currently in Gallipoli. The placement of the cacti famous in the region really changes the way you fight, and the tanks in the opening of the battle set players up for something truly special. We’re really proud of being able to represent so many diverse battlefields across the whole WW1 Series.”

New Weapons:
The update also adds four new bespoke weapons, giving both sides fresh options on the battlefield. British forces can use the long-range Enfield Pattern 1914 Mk.I and a clip-fed variant of the Lee-Enfield Mk.I. The Ottomans gained the rapid-firing Winchester Model 1866 and the powerful, single-reload Snider M1867.

New Cosmetics:
Alongside the free update, two new cosmetic DLC packs are available: Khaki Pack, introducing the West Kent subfaction, and Black Watch Pack, introducing the Scottish subfaction. Both are part of the Second Expedition and are included for owners of the Second Expedition Season Pass.

The Future:
Ali Al Muntar is the first major step in Gallipoli’s post-launch roadmap. BlackMill Games plans to continue expanding the game through a series of Expeditions, with new maps, weapons and features alongside ongoing improvements based on player feedback. You can see the full roadmap here.

Gallipoli launched on 20th August 2026 and is the fourth standalone title in the WW1 Game Series, joining Verdun, Tannenberg and Isonzo. With over four million sales across the series, each game focuses on a different front of the Great War, offering grounded, historically inspired multiplayer FPS gameplay built around teamwork, period accuracy and a strong respect for historical accuracy.

The Ali Al Muntar expansion is available now as a free update for Gallipoli owners on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
