com/app/5356470/Playable_ Archive Playable Archive embodies and preserves DarkStone Digital’s vision for a project inspired by and paying tribute to the found footage subgenre of horror. While the full version of this game will not see release, Playable Archive offers a unique, rare opportunity to encounter the project’s eerie story through a never-before-released sampling of the central gameplay systems and ominous world.
Step into Playable Archive as a young couple embarks on their first home remodel. While demolishing the dilapidated home, they stumble upon elements of its hidden past awakening something set in motion long ago. The only hope of survival is decoding the many mysteries revealed through time.
“Releasing Playable Archive is really exciting, and it feels like some form of personal healing. After working for so long on something I cared so much about, it felt wrong to leave it sitting on the shelf like some cursed item,” said Brian Clarke, owner of DarkStone Digital. “Although the full-scale game this demo was built for will never see the light of day and many pieces of it had to be left on the cutting room floor, I feel like it’s important to honor what was built. Immortalizing the project’s memory with Playable Archive is my way of doing that while offering something new from me for horror fans this Halloween as I get to work on new projects. I hope they have fun!”
