Croctober concludes with the release of Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos onto PC and consoles

From Press Release:

The highlight of Croctober arrives today after a month of news, updates, and surprises on Argonaut’s socials

Argonaut Games is pleased to announce that the Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster is now available digitally on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Windows PC via Steam and GOG.com, with a native Nintendo Switch 2 edition announced with an anticipated release in late 2026. The remaster of the beloved sequel to the multi-million-selling hit Croc Legend of the Gobbos brings Croc’s next quest to modern platforms, featuring enhanced visuals and a range of quality-of-life improvements.

Today’s launch of Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos marks the highlight of Croctober, a whole month of news, updates, and surprises on Argonaut’s social channels.

Starting today, players can join Croc in searching for his long-lost parents across 40+ levels of open-ended 3D platforming. The game originally released in 1999 as Croc 2, and the remaster restores the title Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos, the name used during development.

“We are thrilled for players to jump into the next Croc adventure today,” said Mike Arkin, co-CEO of Argonaut Games. “With updated visuals and modern controls alongside the original’s classic 3D platforming, we welcome fans back to the Kingdom of the Gobbos and introduce new players to this wonderful sequel.”

“Croc 2 holds a special place in Argonaut’s history, and bringing it back remastered for today’s platforms has been a true labour of love,” said Jez San OBE, Argonaut’s founder. “Sharing this classic with another generation of players today is something very special.”

The day has arrived, Gobbos. Though I get the strangest feeling of déjà vu, like we have done this all before,” said Baron Dante, Croc’s arch-nemesis. “No matter. My Dantinis and I have a little revenge planned, and this time no triple-jumping crocodile is going to stop us!”

Croc’s Next Adventure

In Croc 2 Kingdom of the Gobbos, Croc heads to the mainland to find his missing parents. However, his heartfelt journey turns into a showdown after the Dantinis resurrect Baron Dante, who vows revenge against the crocodile. Croc’s journey takes him through distinct Gobbo villages, where he must tackle all-new challenges and rescue imprisoned Gobbos while facing a roster of evil Guardians, including Flavio the Thermal Fish, Venus Fly Von-Trappe, and Soveena the Squid, whose obsession with Ginger Soda makes her a menace to be reckoned with.

All of Croc’s classic moves are back, but jumping and tail-spinning are just the beginning. Croc can now triple jump, giving him extra height when he needs it most. Croc also rides minecarts, races cars and speedboats, catches air on a hang glider, and takes to the skies in a wooden airplane.

The remaster brings modern enhancements to its traditional platforming action, while preserving all the fun and joy that made the original a big hit. Players of all ages will enjoy this heartwarming, family-friendly journey packed with platforming challenges, secrets to uncover, and more adorable Gobbos to rescue.
