Below you’ll find a download link to Hi-Rez Studios’ brand new cinematic trailer for their action MOBA, SMITE. The studio is thrilled to release this video to get fans excited for the upcoming SMITE World Championship.
The prize pool for the SMITE World Championship (SWC) has exceeded $2 million, making SMITE the third eSports IP to break that barrier. The SWC’s bankroll, currently over $2.55 million, has surpassed the total offered by League of Legends’ 2014 World Championship.
The SMITE World Championship prize pool is a crowdfunded effort fueled by the Odyssey, an in-game promotion which sells exclusive content to SMITE players. Each microtransaction generated by the Odyssey contributes directly to the overall jackpot that eight teams from around the world will battle for in front of a live auditorium and online audience this week. The final sum will be awarded in front of the world at the conclusion of the SWC, January 9 – 11, 2015 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.
Also of note for players, the SMITE Ultimate God Pack is going on sale for $19.99, which is 33% off the normal price of $29.99. In SMITE, players can purchase individual gods, or they can buy the Ultimate God Pack to get all the gods (60 right now), today and in the future as well. The sale will last for a week, ending after the SMITE World Championship concludes.
