From Press Release:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MONTREAL (MARCH 27, 2018) – Red Barrels, an independent studio that specializes in true survival horror experiences, launched today Outlast 2 for the Nintendo Switch. A new Story Mode for Outlast 2 will also roll out as a free update on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Outlast 2 is a twisted new journey into the depths of the human mind and its dark secrets. Set in same universe as the original game, the sequel introduces Sullivan Knoth and his followers, who left a wicked world behind to give birth to Temple Gate, a town deep in the wilderness and hidden from civilization. Knoth and his flock are preparing for the tribulations of the end of times and players are thrown right in the thick of it.
You are Blake Langermann, a cameraman working with his wife, Lynn. The two investigative journalists are willing to take risks and dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch.
Following a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe, the players are taken miles into the Arizona desert by the investigation, to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do.
The new Story Mode of Outlast 2 allows players to experience the game with minimal challenges, fewer enemy encounters and more breathing room to fully immerse yourself in the universe. The mode will be made available for free today as an update to all versions of Outlast 2 (PC, PS4 & Xbox One).
“We’re excited to have a completely new audience discovering the Outlast universe on Nintendo Switch. The feedback from Outlast: Bundle of Terror has been overwhelmingly positive.” said Philippe Morin, President of Red Barrels. “With Outlast 2, they’ll be able to keep exploring the horrors we cooked up for them.”
The release of Outlast 2 follows up last month’s release of the Outlast: Bundle of Terror on Nintendo Switch which includes the original game and the Whistleblower DLC. Get it on the Game Store: https://www.nintendo.
