Max Payne 3 – The Official Soundtrack (Anniversary Edition) will be a new version of the soundtrack along with new tracks for its 10th Anniversary
From Press Release:
To mark the 10-year anniversary of Max Payne 3, we are thrilled to announce Max Payne 3 – The Official Soundtrack (Anniversary Edition), a new version of the iconic soundtrack coming later this year to digital streaming platforms and limited-edition vinyl.
Featuring the evocative music of L.A. noise band HEALTH, Max Payne 3 – The Official Soundtrack (Anniversary Edition) also debuts previously unreleased tracks from the game.
“When we began work on the Max Payne 3 score we could not have predicted the momentous effect it would have on the trajectory of our band and the music we make,” said HEALTH. “Now, 10 years on, we are still as proud as ever to be part of the story.”
Delivering a dark and driving industrial soundscape reflective of Max’s blurred and frayed mental state and the heavy atmosphere of the Max Payne series, HEALTH’s score for Max Payne 3 pushed their signature melancholy noise rock sound in new directions, with the track “TEARS” becoming a staple in the band’s captivating live shows.
Originally released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in 2012 — and available to play now from the Rockstar Games Launcher and via backward compatibility on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One — the third installment of the Max Payne series features a seamless, highly detailed, cinematic experience that combines cutting edge gunplay with a dark and twisted story bringing Max from the streets of New York to the favelas of São Paulo.
Praised for its pulse-pounding action sequences and innovative use of Bullet Time® (which the series pioneered), the game’s unique soundtrack also received widespread acclaim, with features from Vice, Pitchfork, Kotaku, Game Informer, and others praising its distinctive approach and sound.
