From Press Release:
November 26, 2025 – Hooded Horse is excited to announce a new recruit joining the portfolio of world-class strategic and tactical games. From the makers of the excellent Final Fantasy Tactics-inspired Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark, 6 Eyes Studio’s second game, Pathbreakers: Roaming Blades invites players to the Stormtossed Isle.
Pathbreakers: Roaming Blades is a turn-based tactical RPG where players lead a company of mercenaries in a vibrant medieval fantasy realm. Fight for hire, become a free (and armed) trader, and explore the land, keeping the group well stocked to take on all challenges in a procedurally-generated open-world campaign.
Key pillars of the game include:
- Build and customize a roster of fighters from 8 different classes, each with two advanced classes, with multiple origin stories for the main characters.
- Classic turn-based combat with up to eight of your merry band fighting at once. Face a menagerie of terrifying monsters and enemies on hex-based grids.
- Mercenary companies can specialise in three distinct areas: Mercenary, Traders, and Explorers. More contracts, options, and special commissions become available depending on the chosen path.
- With an open-world, procedurally generated world map, no two forays into the Stormtossed Isle will ever be the same.
- Dynamic events will keep things fresh, with numerous contracts and story events offering multiple resolutions and branching outcomes. Face tough choices that will shape the campaign as it progresses.
- The game will launch with full mod support, allowing players to change countless aspects – from the map, to spells, classes, and more.
“I’ve already lost countless hours to testing early builds of Pathbreakers: Roaming Blades,” says Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender. “It’s exactly the type of game we look for in our portfolio, and we look forward to introducing players to its unique sandbox open world gameplay.”
We’ve been very impressed with Hooded Horse,” said studio co-owner Christina Leclerc. “They have an amazing catalogue and a clear dedication to quality and doing things the right way. We’re proud to join their family, and we know Pathbreakers will be even better with their support.”
The game will be translated from English to German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
Pathbreakers: Roaming Blades will release on PC via Steam Early Access.
