December 19, 2025 | Alkahest, the upcoming action RPG set in a dark medieval fantasy world, has reached a major milestone on Steam, surpassing 500,000 wishlists worldwide.
Following nearly two years of active development, the team has shared a new development update offering a closer look at how Alkahest is shaping up—with a particular focus on its physics-driven, directional combat system. The update provides insight into the design philosophy behind the game’s swordplay, enemy reactions, and interactive environments.
Rather than traditional button-mashing combat, Alkahest aims to deliver encounters that feel grounded and deliberate, where positioning, timing, and environmental awareness play a critical role. Players are encouraged to use momentum, terrain, and physical interactions to survive encounters against stronger and more numerous foes.
The team confirms that a full gameplay trailer is currently in production and will be revealed once remaining systems—including boss fights and cinematic elements—are ready for the spotlight.

Explore castles, forests, villages and other realistic settings, while meeting its residents and making interesting decisions on your journey.

Dynamic combat with a focus on interactive environments. Build your combo and execute it against enemies. Drop a tree on their head, kick them off a cliff, set them on fire. Use all advantages—alchemical potions, daggers, relics, and more!

Master the craft of Alchemy. Instead of magic, Alkahest will feature alchemy, a complex and important game system. Follow a recipe or mix gathered ingredients at your own discretion. Use the substance as a throwable, a weapon oil, plant it into an NPC’s pocket or even drink it yourself.

Immerse yourself in the journey. We strive to create a highly interactive and believable world with semi open-world locations, packed with secrets and adventure. With branching gameplay options, inspired by Dishonored, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and other genre-defining games.
Alkahest is currently in development for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
