Brigador Killers to receive updated gameplay demo ahead of Steam Next Fest

From Press Release:

Chicago, United States – Wednesday, June 10, 2026 – Stellar Jockeys, the acclaimed developer behind the beloved mech shooter Brigador: Up-Armored Edition, will today release a new update for the Brigador Killers gameplay demo, bringing a range of player-requested fixes and quality-of-life improvements ahead of Steam Next Fest.

Brigador Killers is an isometric insurgent simulator inspired by Syndicate and Crusader: No Remorse, expanding the world of Brigador into a broader, more flexible sandbox that blends on-foot action with vehicular combat and deeper systemic gameplay. Players assemble a private arsenal, deploy on high-risk missions, and bring the war home to the businessmen who started it all. Building on the foundation of 2016’s Brigador: Up-Armored Edition, which earned a dedicated following for its isometric action, fully destructible cityscapes, punishing tactical combat, dense worldbuilding, and acclaimed original soundtrack, Brigador Killers pushes the series into a new era of boots-on-the-ground insurgency.

Following the release of the public demo in May, Stellar Jockeys has been reviewing player feedback, streams, and community responses, with today’s update focused on reducing friction, improving readability, and helping players spend more time in the action.

Available later today, the latest demo update includes a range of improvements to inventory flow and interaction, including easier access to backpacks and carried containers, improved drag-and-drop behavior, and faster weapon pickup and equip functionality. The inventory screen is also now more forgiving when players are trying to quickly grab a weapon from the ground, helping them get back into combat faster without having to fight the UI.

The update also introduces clearer interaction feedback across the game, including edge highlights for vehicles, bodies, containers, garage objects, and other nearby interactable elements. Interaction prompts have also been adjusted to appear over the player by default, helping reduce situations where important prompts were missed during exploration or combat.

Vehicles have received a notable quality-of-life pass, too. Previously, only certain vehicles could directly interact with nearby items or containers, but the latest build makes this behavior more consistent across all vehicles, allowing players to loot, salvage, and manage items with less downtime.

Alongside these improvements, the Steam demo also brings over fixes already introduced to the Iitch.io build, including a fix for the crash affecting the Lovell Archer mission for some players.

The Brigador Killers demo currently gives players hands-on access to two distinct campaigns:

OBSTACLE 1
A tightly directed six-mission introductory campaign designed to teach core systems, featuring short narrative beats and an explosive opening and finale. Playtime is approximately 15 minutes.

THE GARAGE
A semi-sandbox campaign with no fixed narrative, where players build out a base, assemble their arsenal, and take on missions on foot or in vehicles. Dynamic mission elements, including shifting layouts, enemy encounters, and equipment drops, offer high replayability and extended play sessions.

The updated demo reflects the latest public build of Brigador Killers ahead of Steam Next Fest. Following Steam Next Fest, Stellar Jockeys expects future demo updates to focus primarily on crash fixes or severe bugs, as development moves toward Early Access.

Players can download the updated demo now on Steam, and wishlist Brigador Killers on Steam or GOG.
