From Press Release:
COLOGNE, Germany – Aug. 25, 2026 – As revealed at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live pre-show, UK-based publisher and developer Dovetail Games has announced Train Sim World 7! The newest entry in the Train Sim World franchise is on track to release on September 15, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam (including Steam Deck), with pre-orders open now for the Standard Edition ($44.99 after 10% pre-order discount), Deluxe Edition ($71.99 after discount), and Ultimate Edition ($116.99 after discount)!
Jam-packed with new routes, gameplay, controls, and long-awaited trains, Train Sim World 7 will have you going loco with all its new player-requested content, including one of the most highly anticipated locomotives in Train Sim World history, the German ICE 4. Reaching speeds of 265km/h and featuring a 105km track set between Nürnberg and Würzburg, it joins the GP49H-3, BL36PH, DB BR 440, Class 333 and 331 locomotives on a new international adventure across Bavaria, Yorkshire, and Miami. In addition, for PC players, Train Sim World 7 will benefit from an all-new “Epic” settings graphical update which brings an even greater level of visual fidelity to the franchise.
Aside from six brand-new trains to drive, there are also three brand-new routes spanning the quaint hills of Yorkshire (via the Airedale & Wharfedale Network), the low peaks of Bavaria (via the Bahnstrecke Nürnberg – Würzburg line), and the sunshine state of Miami (via the Florida Tri-Rail)! Players can also look forward to:
- Heavy Lifting: Freight Hauler Mode is the new freight-focused gameplay mode where you can marshal freight to its destination free from instructions or schedules.
- Come Rain or Shine: The Live Weather feature syncs your in-game weather to what’s outside your own window, bringing the immersiveness of the game to an even higher level. Driving in Miami? Experience in-game sunshine! Raining in Yorkshire? Experience the best of British weather from wherever you are in the world.
- Upgrade to Epic: For PC players, the new “Epic” settings graphical update improves visual fidelity, lighting and draw distances. Expect faster load times, quicker cameras to keep up with the action, and other improved controls, including NPC guard functionality and enabled safety systems by default.
- Steam Deck Ready: Train Sim World 7 will be available on Steam Deck, a first for the Train Sim World franchise. Take your journey in game to the trains on the real-life tracks!
- So, Think You Can Drive a Train? Well, anyone can with the all-new Simplified Controls option, making driving a breeze! Sit back and enjoy the views as you coast along the tracks, using only your accelerator and brake.
“Train Sim World 7 is the best Train Sim World experience we’ve created yet,” said Rob O’Farrell, Dovetail Games’ Co-CEO. “It builds on everything our existing players love about the series, while making it easier than ever for new players to jump in and discover just how immersive, relaxing and rewarding the world of rail can be.”
Train Sim World 7 launches on September 15, with Early Access from September 10 for those who pre-order the Deluxe or Ultimate Editions. Pre-order the game now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
