From Press Release:
February 19th, 2025 – Chief Rebel and Coffee Stain Publishing are excited to announce the Season 2 Update, the first major seasonal update for their multiplayer online dungeon adventure Fellowship, currently in Steam Early Access.
Launching today, Season 2 delivers Fellowship’s most ambitious update yet. Two brand-new Heroes – the time-manipulating healer Aeona and sword-wielding paladin tank Xavier, bringing entirely new strategic possibilities to the dungeon-crawling experience. In addition, the new Woodland Glade starting zone opens Fellowship’s world beyond the Dungeon for the first time, offering a pressure-free environment for new and veteran players alike to explore. And, for those ready to prove themselves, a full competitive reset wipes the Leaderboard clean, giving every player the chance to forge their legend from scratch.
The Power Couple: Aeona & Xavier
Aeona and Xavier captured the imagination of Fellowship’s playerbase at their reveal, and today they’re finally playable. Designed as a “power couple,” the two Heroes enter the fray with incredible synergies and introduce entirely new combat options to the dungeon-crawling experience.
Aeona is a beautiful and elegant immortal who became mortal to fight alongside her beloved, and her presence on the battlefield is nothing short of miraculous. Where other healers scramble to react, Aeona bends time itself, delaying incoming damage to give her team the precious seconds they need to survive. Cool, calculated, and always one step ahead, she plays less like a traditional healer and more like a damage dealer whose offensive aggression is what keeps her allies alive.
Xavier is the paladin you call when everything is falling apart. The ultimate clutch player, he’s a sword-wielding tank who steps in with powerful healing abilities to pull his team back from the brink. His synergy with Aeona makes the pair genuinely formidable. Her ability to stagger incoming damage gives Xavier the window he needs to identify who needs saving most, and act before it’s too late.
Woodland Glade: A New Space to Learn and Explore
The Season 2 Update also introduces Woodland Glade, Fellowship’s new training area. The Glade is an open map without the structure of a Dungeon where players will be able to play solo or together with strangers, fighting individual mobs and learning their Hero’s abilities without the high stakes of clearing a Dungeon. There is no timer, no bosses, and no chest – just a drop-in/drop-out, instant queue experience that doesn’t rely on the holy class trinity or even other players at all.
“We’ve been listening closely to our community throughout Early Access, and Season 2 is where we continue to address their feedback directly, but at a larger scale” said Hamish Bode, Community Director at Chief Rebel. “We’ve had a look at player progression and made amendments to make things flow much better, on top of introducing new rewards for our veteran players. We’ve also made sure that new players that aren’t necessarily familiar with the MMO-based dungeon crawling mechanics get a chance to ease themselves in and properly learn Fellowship’s core gameplay loop without added pressure.”
Season Reset and Refined Progression
This update marks Fellowship’s first seasonal reset, placing all players on equal footing for a fresh competitive climb. Players retain all previously earned cosmetics – including outfits and mounts – while currencies, gems, equipment, and Leaderboard positions reset to create a level playing field.
Based on extensive player data analysis, Chief Rebel has also completely restructured the Dungeon lineup and progression curve. The path to Eternal rank has been reimagined with advanced gameplay mechanics including interrupts, dispels, and dungeon timers, introduced more gradually to address difficulty spikes identified in player feedback. Progressing to Eternal now also requires players to earn 2 progression points per difficulty level before advancing, encouraging broader exploration of the different Dungeons.
Additional Season 2 Updates that will come during this phase include:
- In-Game Store Launch: Cosmetic skins, mounts, avatars, and banners are now available via an in-game store, offering cosmetic alternatives for players looking to stand out
- Hero Rebalancing: Hero abilities have been adjusted based on community feedback
- Bad Luck Protection: Legendary crafting materials for adding gem slots and alternative gem acquisition through direct purchase and other rewards now help players get to the top faster
- Leaver Penalty System: Time penalties for premature group abandonment will be introduced, alongside priority requeue for remaining players to get back into a new run quicker
Fellowship’s Season 2 Update is now live and free for all players on Steam. The Chief Rebel team encourages players to jump in, experience a fresh start, and continue providing feedback as development continues.
