LONDON, June 11th 2026 – Pantaloon and Nested Loop Studios have released BOXROOM into Early Access on Steam and Itch.io today. The launch follows a short unexpected delay that caused the game to miss its initial launch date.
BOXROOM boots your actual Steam library, allowing you to curate, arrange and display your collection in a way that reflects your playing tastes.
As well as Photo Mode, Room Sharing (via Steam Workshop) and other core features seen in the wildly popular Demo, the Early Access release of the game completes the 90s Room Collection, adding over 230 items to the game’s first themed catalogue.
The Early Access campaign will then move through various themes and room types as the game approaches its 1.0 release date in 2027, with other major features also due along the way.
“The response to BOXROOM really caught us off guard,” said Nested Loop’s James Biddulph, “we thought collectors might find it interesting, but we didn’t expect the game to catch attention quite to the extent that it did. Seeing players push the boundaries of what’s possible in the game – creating surreal art-works, liminal spaces and bizarre shrines to certain games – has been amazing to see.”
BOXROOM also comes complete with hidden items and furnishings for owners of specific games. Inspect your collection and take a good look inside each box. Who knows what might be waiting…
