June 30, 2026 – Hooded Horse and Pavonis Interactive are excited to announce the first DLC for their sci-fi grand strategy epic, Terra Invicta. Terra Invicta – Dark Skies offers new challenges for fans of the Earth-based political game and will release on July 27, 2026, across all storefronts.
Dark Skies asks two questions: What if the world as we know it had already ended before the aliens arrived? And what if humanity had twenty more years to prepare for the coming onslaught? The expansion invites players to explore two distinct starting scenarios, each offering a new spin on the ultimate fight for the Solar System.
Drop into a world shattered by nuclear fire in Broken Earth, an alternate history scenario where the Cuban Missile Crisis caused an atomic apocalypse. A century later, the world that emerged is unrecognizable – the major powers have fractured, giving rise to unique polities. A divided humanity must claw its way back to strength to stand a chance against an implacable alien force.
Meanwhile, the 2003 scenario is set amidst the US invasion of Iraq, a time of political unrest in which the aliens’ arrival is still twenty years away. As Earth’s nations spiral into diplomatic turmoil, players must deploy fresh tactics to defeat an enemy few believe even exists. This start date brings new projects and technology to research, as well as a longer, slower fight on Earth. Contend with covert alien forces and sympathizers as they wage a shadow war in preparation for the main fleet’s arrival at the edges of the system.
The DLC also comes with two new spaceship sets offering additional visual styles. Choose from NASA-inspired or industrial hard sci-fi aesthetics to further personalize fleets in the (even longer) war against the aliens.
Terra Invicta – Dark Skies will release on July 27, 2026, via Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.
