Post-nuclear strategy series Krush Kill ‘N Destroy adds big box physical editions and modern online PvP decades after release

From Press Release:

Denver, CO. (July 29, 2026) – Modern retro publisher Ziggurat Interactive and physical specialists Reboxy are delighted to reveal their classic big box editions of 90s RTS hits Krush Kill ‘N Destroy Xtreme and Krush Kill ‘N Destroy 2: Krossfire. Fans will have a wealth of collector’s items to unbox when the editions launch in future, and from now can play an all-new online PvP mode as part of a host of new updates in open beta, with a 1.0 launch coming later this summer.

Obliterate your rivals with nuclear fire online, then dazzle them in real life with the fully kitted out Classic Edition and bursting with items that will make you the envy of any classic RTS enjoyer – available from Reboxy later this summer.

The Classic Edition of each title includes the big box presentation (laminated, with foam insert), a pressed CD-ROM, two redeemable codes (choice of Steam and GOG), a reprint of the original manual, an A3 full-color poster, and a CD jewel case inlay, all factory shrink-wrapped for mint condition collectors or those who want maximum unboxing satisfaction.

For those after a slightly sleeker presentation, the Display Edition condenses the release to the big box casing, game codes, and the A3 poster, with a lower price to match – naturally still factory shrink-wrapped for authenticity – available now from the official Reboxy Store. The Classic and Display editions offer different designs for the EU and US, making for a total of eight variants across the two titles for collectors to choose from.

Ahead of the physical release, Ziggurat are deploying a number of much-anticipated updates to both KKND titles. Almost 30 years on from initial release, players of both games will get access to modern online features, battling for resources on post-nuclear battlefields.

As well as restoring multiplayer features, the update adds improved modding capabilities, new languages, windowed mode, new playable display resolutions, and a range of bug fixes. Players who already own Krush Kill ‘N Destroy Xtreme and Krush Kill ‘N Destroy 2: Krossfire receive all of these features as an automatic free update now in open beta, with a full release later this summer.

Updates coming to the Krush Kill ‘N Destroy series include:

  • Classic Edition with laminated casing and foam insert, CD-ROM, 2x game codes, manual, full-color A3 poster, and CD jewel case inlay.
  • Display Edition with laminated casing and foam insert, 2x game codes, and full-color A3 poster.
  • Differing EU and US designs of both boxes (and content), for a total of eight variants to collect. The contents of the games and the manuals will remain the same, but each version across regions will feature a varied, custom design.
  • Major update available in open beta with modern online multiplayer, new languages, improved modding support, bug fixes, and higher display resolutions up to 4K.

The KKND series updates are now available in open beta on PC via Steam, and the physical Display Edition is available via the official Reboxy store, with a Classic Edition to follow later this summer. The 1.0, GOG release and physical Classic Edition release dates will also follow later this summer.
