Today during QuakeCon’s welcome stream, MachineGames and id Software announced Dawn of the Machine, a brutal new episode for Quake™, is available now as a free update for Quake owners*. Created in celebration of Quake’s 30th anniversary, the new episode builds on MachineGames’ acclaimed work on Dimension of the Machine and Dimension of the Past, delivering ferocious combat, labyrinthine level design, and nightmarish new realms to explore.
Dawn of the Machine features 19 all-new maps across a cohesive campaign, a brand-new soundtrack, hidden secrets, a dedicated episode hub, an all-new deathmatch map, and three new achievements to unlock (on applicable platforms). Players will face deadly new variants of familiar enemies, discover powerful weapon variants inspired by classic Quake expansions, and unravel a unique looping campaign structure that unlocks new paths, encounters, and rewards with each return.
In Dawn of the Machine, Ranger finds himself trapped in a dimension of endless illusion and must track down the mysterious Nightmare Machine to finally break free. Along the way, players will shift between dimensions, uncover hidden secrets, and face unpredictable encounters where reality itself is constantly changing.
