Awesome Games Studio has spent three years supporting Yet Another Zombie Survivors in Early Access, delivering eight major updates shaped by player feedback. With 1.0, the team is going even further, packing what could have been several major updates into one massive release without increasing the game’s base price. The update introduces the Ranger, the game’s ninth Survivor, alongside her two animal companions; the Bio Lab, a brand-new map tied to the origins of the zombie outbreak; and Boss Rush, a new mode where players race to power up before facing the ultimate boss at the 10-minute mark and compete for leaderboard spots.
The 1.0 update also expands YAZS beyond its traditional run-based gameplay with The Camp, a new HUB featuring missions, radio transmissions, Survivor conversations, and hidden details. Players can uncover main story-related quests about the source of the virus, as well as personal missions for individual Survivors that reveal more about their backgrounds and relationships. The update also adds new cross-Survivor synergies, fifth-rank to the Survivors’ skill trees, 21 new items, 88 new achievements, and optional Torments for players looking for an extra challenge. Numerous quality-of-life improvements, faster loading, better performance, new music, refreshed sound effects, and plenty of smaller additions round out the 1.0 update.

Yet Another Zombie Survivors launched out of Early Access on August 20 at 11:00 AM UTC, simultaneously on Steam, GOG, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox One & Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch version is coming soon after. The game’s base price remains unchanged at $14.99.
