SEOUL – Sept. 4, 2026 – Digital Extremes thawed out plenty of upcoming treats arriving this fall for Warframe and Soulframe in a special edition Devstream live from its TennoVIP community event in Seoul, South Korea. Warframe’s next major update, Iceblade of Narin, is set to arrive free on all platforms September 23, with new details showcased for the 66th Warframe, Narin, alongside a first-look at new six-player squad missions, a new relay hub and enemy variant, Citrine Prime Access, and a once-in-a-lifetime in-game community event – Epoch Operation: Taubound (launching October 15) – for players to prepare for the arrival of Warframe: Tau later this year. Soulframe players tuning in were treated to new details around Preludes 16, a free update arriving mid-September that introduces wolf cub bonding, fishing, and dynamic weather changes among other slick new additions.

Return to the Zariman shipwreck and uncover the lost secret of Narin, the 66th Warframe, in the Iceblade of Narin update, arriving free all platforms September 23:
Seek out the forgotten history of Narin and master the art of sword and ice to discover a unique ability kit that brings a new meaning to crowd control with Warframe’s first female ice frame.
Wield Narin’s signature Nunchasa bow, and dual ice pistols Aksondol to unleash a hail of cold with precision and fluidity.
Discover new missions, locations, enemies, resources and rewards:
Narin’s Crest has materialized on the Yuvan Peak – creating the newest Relay Hub within the Origin System. When a player goes to select the node, the Earth will rotate, revealing a previously hidden side of Earth.
Iceblade of Narin introduces a brand-new 6-player squad gameplay mode: Glacial Defiance. 6-player missions are played on existing mission levels with new and challenging twists for players to uncover. On completion, players are transported to a new area – Melica’s Labroom – to discover their earned rewards.
Upon opening Melica’s Labroom, new Entropic Eximus enemies will spawn in throughout Zariman missions – these adversaries drop Entropic Kuva that can be traded with Cephalon Melica for new update-themed wares.
Heed the call of Tau’s beckoning and prepare for Epoch Operation: Taubound, a once-in-a-lifetime in-game community event arriving October 15:
A heavy unit is approaching. Following the release of the Iceblade of Narin Update, prepare for the next Narrative Chapter of Warframe arriving later this year, Warframe: Tau. Epoch Operation: Taubound is a massive time-limited in-game event designed to unite Warframe’s global community to build the path to Tau together.
Complete The Hex and The Old Peace to gain access to the mini-Quest, Prologue to Tau, continuing the events of The Old Peace and revealing lost memories of the Lotus.
Jumping into the world of Warframe for the first time? After completing the Vor’s Prize introductory Quest, head to Eris and join the community in collecting a new resource, Moonflesh, to convert into the necessary fuel required to get to the ever-distant Tau Star System. Players who have not met Prologue to Tau mini-Quest requirements can still earn event-exclusive rewards!
Polish off the Foundry for the prismatic arrival of Citrine Prime Access, arriving alongside the Iceblade of Narin update September 23:
Citrine, the crystal bastion, is glistening in gold trim with enhanced stats. Glimmer with Prime cosmetic accessories like the Sphatika Prime Syandana backpiece, Alumeti Prime Sugatra weapon charm, or the Spinele Prime Operator/Drifter accessories.

Soulframe Preludes 16: Of Hook & Hound arrives free in mid-September:
First teased at TennoCon 2026, Soulframe players will soon get their hands on a host of new features and content arriving for Digital Extremes’ early Alpha playtest build – Soulframe Preludes.
A fishing minigame mechanic will be introduced for players, with a variety of lures and different fish to catch-and-release, or keep, and rewards to discover.
Players who complete The Shewolf Snared Fable will begin bonding with their chosen wolf cub, raising it through exploration, activities, and other mechanics. Over time, the cub will grow and will begin to assist the player in combat and will eventually become an in-game mount (arriving later this year).
New gear arriving in Preludes 16 includes a two-handed mace, caster staff, sidearm rapier and a witch cosmetic, and a brand new dynamic weather system will bring additional immersive atmosphere and variation to gameplay as players explore its world
Preludes 16 will also introduce adjustments to Tempers, providing players with more agency in how they build and customize their loadout. With these adjustments, players can now dismantle their weapons to reclaim their Tempers and use them to retune eligible Legendary weapons with Tuvalkane.
