Nektropos Castle opens in EverQuest Legends, adding an endgame dungeon and a new playable race

From Press Release:

SAN DIEGO, CA – October 22, 2026 – Daybreak Games today released Nektropos Castle for EverQuest Legends™. This major update – the first of many planned updates based on the classic  EverQuest lore – adds a playable Half Dark Elf race, a hidden starting area beneath the castle, a new outdoor zone, and an endgame dungeon with 20 named-creature encounters.

EverQuest II players know Nektropos Castle as a cursed ruin. EverQuest Legends is set roughly five centuries earlier and shows how it started. After years of abuse, a servant of the Everling household took Lord Rikantus Everling’s enchanted sword and killed all seven Everling daughters. Lord Rikantus went mad and began raising the dead. His estranged surviving son, Lord Ollix Everling, asks players to help put the house to rest.

What’s New

  • Lake Nerius: A new open outdoor zone and the approach to the castle. The land has become overgrown since the incident in the castle.
  • Nektropos Castle: An endgame dungeon with more than 20 named creatures to slay, all set inside the Everling family’s home.
  • Nektropos Undercroft: A hidden starting area beneath the castle, unknown to the Everlings living above it.
  • The Ayr’Haeth: The new Half Dark Elf playable race that claims the Undercroft as their home.

Halloween Event: October 22 to November 3

  • A free Werewolf pet illusion in the in-game shop for the length of the event.
  • A Half Dark Elf-themed quest in Lake Nerius that rewards a pet illusion of the player’s choice.
  • New pet illusions in the Marketplace, including:
    • Undead Frog
    • Scarecrow
    • Skeleton (Dark Bone, Ice Bone and Standard)
    • Vampire Bat
