Magrunner: Dark Pulse Review

Jun 28, 2013

Crowd-funding is quite popular these days, and among them is the success for 3AM and Frogwares. Done via Gamesplanet Lab, is what brings Magrunner to us. Is it an attractive game, or polarizing to your wallet?

Jun 06, 2013

Tom Francis of PC Gamer UK has been developing the game for years. He even left the publication temporarily so that he could finish it. After playing it beginning to end, is it Gunpointless or truly Funpoint?

Anomaly 2 Review

May 22, 2013

11bit Studios’ underrated original, Anomaly: Warzone Earth was a great concept that fulfilled the promise of being on the opposite side of tower defense, called “tower offense”. The anomaly of the game’s namesake that threatened Earth is still at large, and now the conflict has moved to the United States. One of the things I praised from my preview was how well it flows from moment one. The opening throws you right into the action. Then, you get forced into VR Missions which act as a tutorial and cleverly get interrupted. All of it a very meta way as the XBLA version of the original game featured VR Missions as its bonus mode.

Frozen Synapse is Now Available for iPad

May 16, 2013

Frozen Synapse iPad is now live on the App Store: http://appstore.com/frozensynapse for £4.99 / €5.99 / $6.99

“I could not be more excited that Frozen Synapse has finally hit the App Store,” honked Joint Managing Director Paul Taylor, as he dangled bizarrely in his harness.  “We have dreamed of the day when all of humanity could scream ‘DO YOUR TURN!’ at strangers on the internet from anywhere that has wifi.  Today is that day.”

Features as told by the developers in their own words:

  • Experience the unmitigated joy of a full iPad conversion, not some miserably impoverished spin-off dross
  • Play the full single player campaign and every multiplayer mode from the original game with your hands
  • Enjoy full cross-play on the same account: start a game on your hulking great desktop and finish it on your sleek little posh tablet, perhaps during a boring family occasion
  • Luxuriate in the portability of tablet gameplay with a brand new interface crafted explicitly for your horrendous wiggling digits
  • Hotseat your way to both popularity and fortune (fortune sold separately) with local multiplayer!  Passing your device around in a public place has never been more socially acceptable
  • And a whole lot more!  (I have always wanted to write that)

Magicka: Wizard Wars First Screenshots Revealed

May 15, 2013

Paradox Interactive, a publisher of games and a shooter of screens, today released the first-ever screenshots for Magicka: Wizard Wars, the 4-on-4 team-based PvP title from their new studio, Paradox North. Using an untested image-capturing spell that may or may not have stolen the souls of every wizard pictured in the new screens, Paradox is more than willing to take that risk in order to give the world its first look at Magicka: Wizard Wars in action.

In Magicka: Wizard Wars, two teams of four wizards each will tangle, tango, and possibly ingest tangy tangerines in pitched battles, utilizing the iconic dynamic spellcasting of Magicka along with some new tricks. In true Magicka fashion, wizards who can think fast and aim away from their allies’ faces will win the day. With short battles, skill-based spellcasting, and an overabundance of marvelous robes,Magicka: Wizard Wars aims to provide multiplayer aficionados with a new option for PvP mayhem.
