Epic Games Releases ‘Epic Citadel’ on Browser

Epic Games and Mozilla have continued a close collaboration first revealed during last month’s Game Developers Conference to release “Epic Citadel” on the Web running in HTML5. No plug-ins or added components are needed to experience the free app.
“Epic Citadel” is built using standards-based technologies like HTML5, WebGL and JavaScript, and should work in any standards-based browser implementing those features. For optimal performance, Epic recommends loading “Epic Citadel” at http://www.unrealengine.com/

Defiance game gets over One Million Registered Accounts

Trion Worlds announced today that more than one million Defiance accounts have been created since the launch of the open world shooter one month ago today. Fans of both the game and show have truly immersed themselves into the futuristic world of Defiance, with gamers eclipsing major milestones in game, while TV viewers are tuning in at record cable numbers for the first two episodes.
Killing hellbugs, driving ATVs and triggering Arkfalls are among the top in game activities:
- The not so cute or cuddly hellbugs have put up a good fight, but gamers are showing an incredible love for dropkicking, exploding and decimating them by annihilating more than 500,000,000 hellbugs to date.
- Jumping on their ATV and cruising around the Badlands has led to gamers driving 50,000,000 miles around the terra formed Bay Area.
- Banding together, Ark Hunters have engaged in triggering and battling back an incredible 1,000,000 Arkfalls.
Finally, Trion has announced the Defiance Most Wanted contest in which fans must outgun the competition in game from April 30 – May 12 to see themselves on an upcoming episode of Defiance on the Syfy channel. This is the barbaric world of Crusader Kings II: The Old Gods, the fourth expansion for the universally acclaimed Crusader Kings II, releasing on May 28.
In the first of three developer diaries delving in to one of Europe’s darkest and most brutal periods, project lead Henrik Fåhraeus explains the prominence that the pagans will have in the game. Adding an additional 200 years to the gameplay timeline by pulling the start date back to 867 AD with the great heathen army rampaging across England, Crusader Kings II: The Old Gods will feature all of the key pagan nations and religions of the period including the Norse, Baltic and Slavic pagans as well as the Mongols.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Review

Forget everything you think you know about Far Cry 3 when starting Blood Dragon. With the exception of the core element of an open-world on a tropical island, there’s hardly anything that has stayed the same. The entire Far Cry 3 experience has been streamlined as there is no longer a need to sell the items looted, sorry, pilfered. Levels are gained and given to you without so much as seeing a skill tree. There are analogues to pistols, shotguns, SMGs, sniper rifles as they all return with new names with futuristic-sounding attachments. Enemies are varied, and are no longer simple pirates. These cyborgs want you deader than a “Where’s the Beef?” commercial.

Paradox Interactive, a publisher of games and an all-around ship-shape bunch, today announced that Leviathan: Warships, a strategic turn-based cross-platform game developed by Pieces Interactive, has left drydock and is officially launched. Available today on PC and Mac platforms, Leviathan: Warships is a single-player and multi-player game that challenges amateur admirals everywhere to guide a customized fleet of ships to victory in strategic battles. Leviathan: Warships is on sail for $9.99 on PC and Mac, with a single purchase allowing players to play on both platforms. The iPad and Android tablet versions will be available on May 2 2013 and are $4.99 each. All four ports (and starboards) can play together in multi-player co-op and versus modes.

In Leviathan: Warships, players will choose from a wide array of ship and weapon types to go completely overboard with personalized fleets, fighting battles in a unique blend of action and turn-based gameplay. Captains can take their time to plot out their turn, assigning moves and attacks to their ships, and blast the hull out of their foes as the moves play out simultaneously. With Leviathan: Warships, Paradox puts the sea in the cloud, allowing players to start a session from their tablet and continue their cloud-saved skirmish from their computer, challenging foes on any available device.
