From Press Release:
22 APRIL 2020 – Today, Glass Revolver and publisher Armor Games Studios are delighted to release ITTA simultaneously on PC and Nintendo Switch.
To accompany the announcement, a heart-pounding launch trailer (PC, Switch) has been released showcasing the beautiful and surreal world of ITTA, as well as the frantic pixel-perfect gameplay, inspired by bullet hell titles.
ITTA is a boss-rush style adventure about loss, grief and hope. Players take control of the titular heroine, who wakes up deep within a strange and threatening garden surrounded by the bodies of her family. Guided by the ghostly form of her former cat and wielding her father’s trusty revolver, Itta must take on the horrors lurking nearby in an attempt to escape.
In order to help Itta find her way home, players will need to seek out and put an end to a variety of hostile eldritch beings scattered throughout a gorgeous but twisted overworld. The only way out is through, but it won’t be easy – each malevolent being presents a brand-new challenge, requiring a unique strategy to beat.
The themes and feelings in ITTA are loosely inspired by developer Jacob Williams’ experiences and personal struggles, and started life during Williams’ stay at a psychiatric facility, where development on the game began.
Despite the bleak circumstances surrounding its inception, the game began to take on themes of hope, beauty, and compassion, following the trajectory of Williams’ outlook. Jacob says “ITTA has been my entire life for the past 3 years and my life is better for it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.”
ITTA launches on both PC and Nintendo Switch today, 22nd April 2020, priced £13.49 / $14.99 / €13.49
