Tallinn, Estonia (March 28, 2024) – Untraveled Lands: Chantico, the Indiana Jones-inspired survival crafting card game infused with Mesoamerican cultural influence, is officially revealed in a new trailer today from developer Tall Troll Games and publisher IndieArk.
Untraveled Lands: Chantico invites players to delve deep into the dense jungles of a world filled with legends, mysteries, and relics lost to time. Drawing inspiration from the enchanting histories and myths of Mesoamerican civilizations, Untraveled Lands: Chantico delivers an experience that transports players to an era reminiscent of the 1930s, full of retro ambiance and adventurous allure that golden era is known for.
At the core of Untraveled Lands: Chantico is a captivating card mechanic that integrates every element of the game, from resource gathering and crafting to strategic card combat and character progression. This system ensures deep, dynamic gameplay, where every decision leads to new paths, unexpected challenges, and hidden treasures. “Our team holds a deep love for board and card games, which has greatly influenced our decision-making processes. During our brainstorming sessions, we identified a potential opportunity to merge survival elements with card game mechanics. With this in mind, Chantico was conceptualized, aiming to combine elements from survival craft games with the strategic nature of card games,” said Dennis Kostroman, Art Director of Tall Troll Games. “Chantico places players in the setting of the Mesoamerican jungles, offering us great opportunities to make the game visually appealing and fun to play.”
Untraveled Lands: Chantico is planned for release in Q4, 2024, with support for English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, French, Polish, and Korean languages.
