As the first title to carry on the series in 18 years, Tokyo Xtreme Racer’s logo will be familiar to any longtime fans of the games.
Players will race their rivals once again on Japan’s Metropolitan Loop Line. Real vehicles and car parts are reproduced and included in the game from beloved manufacturers. The game also allows players to customize their own cars before taking them on the road for glory against all challengers.
The game’s gameplay, replayability, and worldview that have made the “Tokyo Extreme Racer” series so popular will now be able to be enjoyed on Steam®. “Tokyo Extreme Racer” is a racing game series that first debuted on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994.
Other notable releases in the franchise:
The Dreamcast™ “Tokyo Extreme Racer,” entry released in 1999. This entry dramatically improved the the realism and fidelity of the race course thanks to the evolution of hardware performance. The game was highly acclaimed for its gameplay that specialized in battling rivals utilizing Genki’s unique “SP Battle” system.
The PlayStation®2 “Tokyo Extreme Racer 3,” entry released in 2003. The biggest hit in the entire series, this game fully recreated the three major cities of Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. It also boasted the largest volume of content.
GRP (Genki Racing Project) is the name of Genki’s racing game brand, and all Genki activities relating to cars
