Genki Co., Ltd. are happy to announce that Tokyo Xtreme Racer will be launching onto Steam Early Access on January 23rd, 2025.
After an 18 year absence, Genki’s beloved Tokyo Xtreme Racer series will launch its brand new entry on Steam Early Access. The goal is to utilize player feedback to elevate the game even further.

The Early Access version is expected to last approximately 4 months. The full release version of the game will become available after Early Access with the addition of the remainder of the story, additional cars, additional rival characters, as well as new features and improvements. People who purchase the Early Access version will have access to the full release version upon launch at the discounted Early Access price.
ABOUT THE TOKYO XTREME RACER FRANCHISE
Tokyo Xtreme Racer is a racing game franchise that first released on the Super Famicon in 1994. With the release of Tokyo Xtreme Racer on the Dreamcast, the franchise made its first appearance in the west with dramatically improved cars, graphics, and performance. With the series’ unique “SP Battle” system, the gameplay that specialized in racing rivals proved to be an acclaimed core feature for fans. Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 for PlayStation2® became the biggest hit in the franchise, fully reproducing the three major cities of Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. The final entry in the series released on the Xbox 360 in 2006 – but 18 years later, in 2025, Tokyo Xtreme Racer is ready to show racing fans both old and new why it has such dedicated fans!
