SEATTLE – Sept. 25, 2024 – tinyBuild is thrilled to release DUCKSIDE, the quacktion-packed persistent-world survival shooter, onto Steam Early Access today for $14.99/£12.79/€14.79, with an additional 35% off discount available at launch! DUCKSIDE’s early access debut follows the conclusion of multiple open betas and includes a variety of new features to excite seasoned-duck veterans or first-time fliers.
In DUCKSIDE, you’ll fight against feathered and featherless foes while gathering loot and materials to create a base and complete missions across a giant archipelago, solo or with a flock. Other ducks may be looking to steal your items from under your beak, so protect your territory! Build and fortify a giant base, team up with friends to hunt, or simply steal from other ducks.
Arm (wing?) up and head into battle against the humans to complete missions and secure rare and valuable loot. The possibilities are endless in this persistent-world survival shooter filled with ducks, guns, emergent gameplay and never-ending quacking.
New Features In Early Access:
- New Horizons: Ducks love migrating to new areas! To ensure our feathered friends have access to exciting new climates, desert and snow biomes have been added to the game.
- Dexterous Ducks: Updated animations for holding, shooting, flying and gathering have been added (at the cost of the ducks losing telekinetic control of weapons and objects).
- The Iron Age (for Ducks): A brand-new, extra-large furnace is on its way, specifically designed to smelt large amounts of ore and create Chainsaws and Jackhammers, some of the new tools available in early access.
- New Weapons: Our feathered physicians have told many ducks never to use alcohol while operating heavy weaponry. To ensure this never happens, a Distillery has been added to the game along with a recipe for Molotov cocktails, as well as Bazookas (a new raid weapon which replaces the old boring grenade launchers).
- Watery Resources: Platforms have appeared on the water’s surface. No one really knows where they came from, but ducks can gather supplies from them.
- Dynamic NPC Behavior: Human NPCs (Non-Plumed Characters) are smarter, faster to act and more aggressive.
Starting in early access, DUCKSIDE players also have the option to rent servers for their flock to play on. More information about servers can be found on the official DUCKSIDE Discord.
The rest of 2024 will also bring seasonal events, additional servers, more customization options, a new monument and changes based on player feedback. 2025 and beyond will offer new map expansions, events, modded servers, additional systems, skins, and more! More details will be revealed during the Convergence Showcase on September 26 .
