MENACE, the new sci-fi turn-based tactics game from Battle Brothers developer reveals strategic layer

January 9, 2025 – Hooded Horse and Overhype Studios are hot-dropping into 2025 and lifting the lid on MENACE, the Battle Brothers developer’s new sci-fi turn-based tactics game that was recently judged to be one of PC Gaming Show’s “Most Wanted” upcoming games.

A new series of dev diaries will cover each aspect of the game in detail as the team works towards a late 2025 release target. Last year ended on a high note with the first official look at the game’s strategic layer, with mock-ups of the Starmap, Armory, promotions, and the upgrade screen for the TCRN Impetus, the player’s mobile base of operations. This was followed by another summary of the tactical layer, putting to words and expanding on what had been shown in previous trailers

Future diaries will offer in-depth looks into weapons, armor, and the various stats, pilots and the vehicles they can wield, and more details on the squad leaders. There will be plenty more to share beyond this, as dev updates will be dropping weekly. The battle to retake the Wayback system will be long and fraught with danger, but at least players won’t be jumping in unprepared.

MENACE will be coming to early access on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in Q3 2025.
