London, 22nd July 2025: Today, Elite Dangerous welcomes the return of a legendary design with the launch of the Panther Clipper Mk II – a modern evolution of the iconic hauler first seen in 1993’s Frontier: Elite II. This colossal ship boasts over 50% more cargo capacity than its nearest rivals, a unique module slot, and even a ship-launched fighter bay. Its imposing exterior is matched by an impressive new bridge, supporting up to four players working together to fly, fight, and defend their goods.
The Panther’s impressive cargo capacity makes it a perfect fit for System Colonisation, a new feature added to Elite Dangerous in February as part of the free Trailblazers update, which has seen players building new space stations and planetary settlements across the universe following the epic conclusion of the Second Thargoid War.
A fully-loaded Panther Clipper might make for tempting prey for pirates, however space buccaneers should beware the 10 possible hardpoints and the option to store a ship-launched fighter, making this a fortress of the stars capable of hauling over 1000 tons of cargo whilst still shielded.
The Panther Clipper Mk II is the second new ship unveiled this year, following the Gutamaya Corsair. Early August will see the introduction of Elite Dangerous’ next major update, Vanguards, which offers major improvements to multiplayer groups (Squadrons) including greater customisation and the ability to add perks which boost specific gameplay actions.
The Panther Clipper Mk II is available now for 19,020 ARX, whilst the Stellar Edition can be acquired for 38,000 ARX and includes a selection of additional ship kit pieces alongside a striking paint job. Commanders who purchase the ship within the early access window will also receive a limited edition ‘Owners Club’ decal. The ship will be available to purchase for in-game earned credits at a later date.
