São Paulo, May 15, 2026 – Today is the day to go full speed ahead: Mullet MadJack officially celebrates two years since its launch on Steam, solidifying itself as one of the biggest Brazilian indie success stories of recent years. Developed by Hammer95 Studios and published by Epopeia Games, the frenetic FPS won over players worldwide with its explosive blend of retro anime aesthetics, stylish violence, and ultra-fast gameplay.
Originally released on May 15, 2024 for PC, the game quickly became a phenomenon among boomer shooter fans. Since then, the title has expanded its reach with launches on Xbox and Nintendo Switch, as well as its arrival on Game Pass.
Since release, Mullet MadJack has surpassed more than 240.000 copies sold worldwide, strengthening its position among the leading Brazilian independent games of today.
On Steam, the game currently holds more than 9.000 user reviews while maintaining an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating, with 97% approval across thousands of reviews.
Critical reception also pushed the title into the international spotlight: on Metacritic, Mullet MadJack currently holds a score of 88 on PC based on dozens of critic reviews, in addition to a score of 86 for the Xbox Series X|S version.
Beyond its positive reception from players and critics, Mullet MadJack has also accumulated numerous awards and nominations throughout its journey, including recognition at both national and international events. Among the highlights, the game won the “Best Brazilian Game” award at Gamescom Latam 2025 and was celebrated as one of the standout indie titles of the year, receiving awards that placed it among the top releases of 2024 and 2025 — including multiple Game of the Year recognitions across different categories and industry events.
Inspired by the ultraviolent anime style of the 1980s and 1990s, the game drew attention for its unique visual identity, speed-driven gameplay, and satirical take on instant dopamine culture.
Over the past two years, Mullet MadJack has also received free updates, new game modes — including Boss Rush and Endless Mode — as well as the exclusive “Portuguese Dub” DLC, bringing Brazilian voice acting to the experience and strengthening the game’s connection with its local audience. The title has also expanded its global community through events, speedruns, content creators, and extensive international press coverage.
