The Depths of Hell – 2 June 2026: Throw those shackles back on! Chained Together, the smash hit co-op ragebait platformer with over 10 million copies sold, is entering a new circle of Hell thanks to a deal linking the game together with publisher Secret Mode.
Chained Together ties up to four players together and challenges them to ascend from the underworld to reach paradise above. But there’s no stairway to heaven here, just an erratic maze of treacherous platforms that you’ll be climbing, jumping, and falling from again and again. And if the tricky platforming and puzzling wasn’t enough, your fellow climbers will drag you around and hold you back if you’re not in lockstep. Co-ordinate with your friends to overcome physics-based challenges and keep climbing up – or face a humiliating fall to the starting chamber.
Too easy for you? Crank up the heat by adding a rising pool of lava beneath you, ready to melt you to ash should you put one foot wrong. Need to cool off? Find golden wings as you climb to unlock the Wings of Freedom and glide to safety after a nasty fall. Or try the game on Beginner mode, where you’re only ever a click away from resetting to the highest point you climbed.
Chained Together was originally developed by Anegar Games and became an instant hit when it first launched in June 2024, securing wins at the Golden Joystick Awards and The Streamer Awards. It has since sold over 10 million copies on Steam, where it currently sits at a 90% Very Positive rating from over 50,000 reviews worldwide.
Secret Mode is no stranger to helping viral games continue to grow, having assisted co-op horror title Escape the Backrooms with its 1.0 launch in October 2025 and bring more content to the game since then. The publisher will be adding a new development partner to the chain in the near future.
