Copenhagen, Denmark – September 29th, 2026 – Season your frying pans and don your boxing gloves; the battle for suburban supremacy has begun – and no, this one won’t be decided at the bake sale. Neighbors: Suburban Warfare, the chaotic party brawler from developer Invisible Walls is now playable as a free-to-play title on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with crossplay support.
Welcome back to Heartsville, where the lawns are pristine, the home-cooked meals are piping hot, and everyone next door is absolutely asking for it. After launching into Steam Early Access in April 2025, Neighbors: Suburban Warfare reaches 1.0 with its biggest neighborhood shake-up yet. Forget awkward small talk over the garden fence – settle your neighbourhood disputes the sensible way: by smashing your neighbour’s house to pieces.
Set across idyllic suburban streets that would probably look lovely if everyone stopped hitting each other with garden equipment, Neighbors: Suburban Warfare sees players team up for fast-paced PvP and PvE battles. Select your local Hero, grab whatever household implement looks sufficiently threatening, barricade your home, and pay the neighbors a friendly visit. Just try to make it back in time for dinner.
There Goes the Neighborhood: What’s New in 1.0
Leaving Early Access doesn’t mean Heartsville has suddenly developed reasonable conflict-resolution skills. The 1.0 launch introduces a host of new ways to cause property damage, including Gwen, a cheerleader bringing plenty of pep and absolutely no team spirit to the residents’ roster. Alongside Gwen, a brand-new mid-century build that could do with a bit of remodelling is coming to the game. Consider the demolition crew already booked.
What better housewarming gift is there than an expanded selection of game modes? Destruction turns the neighborhood into an all-out race to wreck the opposing team’s prized possessions before they return the favour, and Brawl removes the houses altogether and lets everyone get straight to the hitting. Prop Hunt asks players to channel their inner patio furniture as they hide among everyday objects, while Robot Invasion finally provides a common enemy as everyone comes together for a PvE showdown against waves of mechanical intruders. Turns out, all it takes to unite suburbia is a robot uprising.
Home Is Where the Bear Traps Are
The rules of suburban warfare remain beautifully simple: protect your house and make an absolute state of theirs. Players can barricade their homes with traps and gadgets ranging from electric fences to alarm cans, before crossing enemy lines armed with whatever happens to be lying around. Rolling pin? Weapon. Golf club? Weapon. Machine-gunning seagull? Unfortunately, also a weapon.
Each Hero brings their own abilities and playstyle to the block, with a roster spanning Heartsville’s wonderfully dysfunctional collection of locals. Whether heading into battle as a deceptively dangerous grandma, the kind of dad the PTA would kill to recruit, or one of the other unlikely warriors who share a zip code, players can unlock and equip skins to ensure that if they are going to be chased out of somebody’s kitchen, that they’re serving while doing it.
Everybody’s Invited to the Block Party
With the move to free-to-play, anyone can now gather their friends and jump into the neighborhood feud across PC and consoles. Crossplay support means property lines are the only borders worth worrying about, making 1.0 the perfect excuse to round up a team and discover which of your friends should absolutely never be trusted to house-sit for you.
