From Press Release:
Montréal, Canada – October 6th, 2026 – From one endless struggle for survival to another. The fight for humanity shifts to The Fog with the arrival of the NieR:Automata Collection in Dead by Daylight, bringing three of the beloved game’s most memorable characters into the hunt.
Worlds Bound by Suffering
Since its release in 2017, NieR:Automata has earned widespread acclaim for its genre-twisting gameplay, killer soundtrack, and bleak, philosophical narrative in which androids fight a seemingly endless war in a haunting post-apocalyptic world. Its poignant themes of humanity, identity, and loss have helped it stand out as one of the most distinctive games of the past decade.
While the worlds of NieR:Automata and Dead by Daylight might look very different at first glance, the characters that inhabit them share a grim common ground as they contend with unforgiving realities where suffering seems endless, escape appears impossible, and hope is in short supply. For 2B, A2, and Emil, The Entity’s Realm is simply the latest nightmare in their fraught existence.
Iconic Characters in The Fog
The NieR:Automata Collection features 2B and A2 as Legendary Outfits for Feng Mig and Yui Kimura respectively, transforming the fan-favorite Survivors into YoRHa’s battle-hardened androids as they prepare to face their new struggle. On the Killer side, The Legion gets a Very Rare Outfit inspired by Emil, bringing his unique appearance – and unsettling grin – into the Trials.
“I think NieR:Automata is a game that leaves its mark on anyone who plays it, and we’re thrilled to welcome it into the world of Dead by Daylight,” shares Dave Richard, Creative Director on Dead by Daylight. “Beyond the amazing characters and incredible visuals, there’s a definite connection between the themes of our two universes, both dealing with cycles of violence and suffering. Bringing 2B, A2, and Emil into The Fog gave us a chance to help celebrate what makes NieR:Automata so special to us.”
The NieR:Automata Collection will be available in Dead by Daylight on October 6th, 2026.
